Color Me Floral: Stunning Monochromatic Arrangements for Every Season

I found this book through the de Young museum while working on a program for our annual Bouquets to Art exhibit. Kiana and her husband came and spoke at our museum in San Francisco; they brought their flowers, their beautiful stories, and their hearts. It was especially nice to see how Kiana was so creative, and her husband supported her work so much. It was an honor to work with them as they elevated the entire event. The best part is I now have this wonderful book as a reference to create arrangements in the same way. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to flowers.

I first ran across this book in a waiting room while visiting my in-laws. I gasped at each page as my mother-in-law and I thumbed through it. I looked for it the next time I visited, but we couldn't find it. Within a week a package arrived - my in-laws had found it on line and sent me my own copy! 2nd best thing they ever did for me :) The pictures and colors are stunning. The instruction for replicating similar arrangements are given step by step and very clear. I've used this as inspiration for arrangements as well as for frosting flowers and just for a bright spot on a cloudy day.

Kiana's book is, to put it simply, totally amazing. Using the same colors all through 4 seasons, she has put together an easy to follow guide that almost anyone could follow in order to learn how to create beauty for your home or shop. The step by step guide shows clearly how placement can make a difference in a floral design, the colors and photographs are beyond vibrant, and she offers various ways to complete the arrangement. For example, if you stop after a few placements or continue to fill it until practically bursting with beauty. I have a few other books in a similar vein purchased in the last few years and have to say this absolutely beats them all. She's one of my favorite designers, I love the use of unique materials and in-season fruits. If you are just going to grab one book and forage in your yard to fill your house with blooms or take your floral designing to the next level, this is the one.

To any woman who has longed for arrangements that burst from their vessel with the abundance of wildflowers collected in armfuls, I present to you this book - of color, instruction and inspiration. While it is most definitely a beautiful coffee table addition, I beg you to use this book. Delight in it. Let it bring flowers into your life in a way you hadn’t known possible. While none of us will ever be THE Kiana Underwood (i.e. Tulipina), this book presents the tools you will need to live a day in her life. I couldn’t dream of a greater gift than a window into the mind of the beloved Tulipina. It is even more gorgeous than I had known it would be. Too, buy one for every woman in your life; it is a treasure they will be overjoyed to receive. Paired with an apron, shears or pedestal vase - or perhaps an arrangement of your own creation! - your birthday gifts for the year are decided. Happy arranging!!

I purchased this book to get ideas for painting. It's a perfect size for reference. The pictures are beautiful. I have 2 easels and this book fits on one while I paint on the other.

As a florist of 20 years and a lover of flowers and color, I have a bookshelf full of all kinds of books on flowers and arranging. I have to say that none of them make my soul sing like Kiana's 'Color Me Floral' book. Her use of color is exquisite and she has a penchant for including unusual things in her arrangements that no 'ordinary' florist would dream of. Her arrangements are whimsical, natural and bursting with goodness. A wonderful book for florists of all levels, but equally as nice for the non-florist who will just enjoy the amazing 'floral eye candy'. And may I add... Kiana is just as lovely, classy and colorful as her book. :)

It is an absolute treat to receive something exquisite in the mailbox. This book is a delight. All those gorgeous photos so tangible to touch instead of fleeting on a screen. They are there to stay and come back to for specific inspiration on my own flowery journey. Sumptuous!

This book is ideal for a floristry beginner, if you are still in the thought process or already doing the courses.
