Lasko Misto Outdoor Misting Blower Fan, Ideal for Sports, Camping, Decks & Patios, 3 Speeds, 15", Black, 7050

I see a lot of comments with conflicting information and I will try to bring some facts to bear on my experience with the outdoor misting fan.1) The fan has three speeds, plus oscillation and the ability to turn on or off the misting feature, in addition to tilting up or down.2) In my set-up, I have the fan elevated on a table, approximately 30 inches off of the ground. We enjoy sitting outside on the patio during most of the Spring, Summer and Fall.3) Having lived in Arizona and now in Colorado, I am very familiar with the concept of misting fans. Misting fans use a small micron nozzle(s) to cause the water to mist into the air. When humidity is added to the air on a warm dry day, it cools the air up to 20 degrees cooler much like an evaporative cooler. Does the mister leave some water on the deck? Yes. Do you get some moisture on you from the mister? Yes. Both of these items have to deal with how hot is the day? How dry is the air? How high or low do you have the mister turned on. There is a plastic switch that allows you to turn down the water pressure coming into the misters. On a hot day, what little mist is generated is appreciated and feels good. If I want less mist, I point the fan so that it is blowing over our heads and we are sitting 10-20 feet away from the mister. If you live in a climate that has moist air, less mist will evaporate into the air.4) Using the fan only is 80% of how I use the fan. Some Summer evenings can be warm and there may not be a breeze. In this case, I turn the fan on and a gentle oscillating breeze is created. The fan is not so noisy to interrupt conversation.5) Does the fan prevent mosquitos? In my experience, if the fan is blowing on people, this interrupts the mosquitos ability to fly in the wind. Also, the fan disperses the carbon dioxide that we exhale and mosquitos are attracted to. This has been shown to be the case in a Michigan State University study and the American Mosquito Control Association study. While this is not a guarantee you will not get bitten by a mosquito, it seems to reduce the occurrences.6) Kids love it. On a hot day, when the kids are visiting, I turn it on and let the kids cool off by standing right in front of the fan or run-through the mist. They think it is great fun. I myself, use it mostly for the outdoor fan and occasionally use the misting function on hot days.7) I found it to be a good value and the product works well. You just need to understand what factors influence misting and judge how you will use this misting fan.

This thing is so helpful with those hot summer days. It really pumps out the mist across a large area. It will get wet in the area it covers, but thats the point. But if you have furniture or other items that cant get wet, be careful. But man this little thing works well. The osolation part only goes side to side, not up and down, but you can angle it and move to where you need it.

I bought this for my backyard patio to help cool off during the Texas heat. The blower settings are excellent. Nice and powerful. The oscillator is minimal meaning it does all right but doesn't have the full effect of a normal oscillating fan. The mister does an average job. Yes, it mists, but I think the mister let's out too much water. You can end up wet if you stay in the misting path too long.It does help cool you off, but I don't think there was a huge difference during the humid days. If you live in a dry climate, I think it will do a better job. This unit is great to cool off fast if you are working outdoor or chilling out on the patio.The quality of the unit is pretty good. Nice hard plastic with a built-in GFI in the power cable. This fan looks like it'll last awhile. Overall, I think it's a pretty solid product that will get the job done during those hot days.

Well made. It does throw out a lot of mist. Quiet with multiple speeds. I bought a second one for my daughter’s backyard.

***NOTE others have said they were disappointed at not being able to adjust the height of the misting nozzles. Well I was scrolling through this listing and underneath the item in the "From the Manufacturer" section where they talk about all the features and have a bunch of pictures, you can clearly see it pivots. :)I just got this yesterday and opened up the box, brought it inside to check it out, and plugged in the fan. I could not believe how quiet this is. Others have said that but until you have it next to you it's hard to believe it sounds about the same as a regular household fan, and smooth sounding.I also tested out the pivot feature and yep, the whole middle part that houses the fan and misting nozzles can easily be moved up or down. I tested it and it can be aimed at the floor (not sure why you'd want to do that) and then upwards from there. You can have the nozzles themselves pointing straight up. I was SO happy to have read about this feature that it seems many are not aware of. You just grab ahold of that middle section, one hand on each end, and you can easily move it to whatever position you want it.The fan is amazing and like others have said definitely blows air a long way out. I cannot believe this small unit can move air that far, and as quietly as it does. I'll update this review in a few months after having used it for some time. The bag with the manual even came with 3 extra misting nozzles! Pretty nice bonus there. And manual says you can order more nozzles as well as the filter that is in the hose adapter nozzle.
