Surprising to say the least. Very well built and even better sounding. Build the right box!
I just bought a 2004 Corvette (love the body style and flip lights - the last year it had them) and opted for a single sub in the hatch well. I was not looking for a nightclub in my car but something to balance the sound and I was not willing to spend a lot. I selected this sub specifically due to price. I bought the CX122 12' model. After I built a custom 1.2 cu ft sealed enclosure (that was interesting due to all the angles since I wanted it to sit flat in the hatch pointing up at the glass to spread the sound but my CNC made light work of it) and hooked it up I was shocked! This sub for the money sounds amazing. I am pushing about 250 Watts RMS to it and running it crossed at 80HZ and below. The bass is amazing. I may not have been looking for a nightclub in the car but I got it if I want it. Hard hitting, no distortion and crisp. I am not sure how it is this inexpensive but it is. It even has really nice clamp terminals and very good build quality. They are on point with QC as far as I can tell. If you hook this up and it sounds bad I would wager it has to be something you are doing. Make sure you have the recommended enclosure size and use a dampening material such as poly fill. This model wants a sealed enclosure. I have doubt in it handling 1400 watts but in a reasonable system it will add a serious amount of full and crisp punchy bass. I can feel it at both low and high volume. It appears in the car audio world everyone exaggerates the numbers though. Reasonably it would most likely handle 1/3 of 1400 (400 to 500 watts RMS max). Other than the exaggerated wattage (which almost all manufacturers do) it is a great sub. Will it pass the test for a self-proclaimed audiophile? Probably not (but little does), but it will be adequate for 99% of people who are like me in wanting a good sounding system on a budget. And my RTA tests do not disagree with me. It is truly an amazing budget sub. In conclusion this speaker is everything I had hoped and more. I could not be happier. Some more expensive models may sound arguably better (although in those low frequencies most humans are not able to perceive the difference) but for the money this is hands down a great investment. I am adding one to my wife's SUV next!!!

You get honest good bang for your buck. Thump and bump without breaking the bank. Watch the power...
I purchased the 12" 1400 watt version for a dual 12" sealed box that is sized to fit under the workbench in my garage with each sub in the down firing position. Powered by 150 watt class D amp fed from the stereo sub output. I was very pleased with the packaging. It came well secured inside its box and had plenty of protection from shipping woes. It is a budget subwoofer, however, it does perform really well. I do not plan to give it more than 150 to 250 watts for my needs. It was easy to install and I like the look of the sub. It was not something I liked until I saw it in person. I purchased it anyway as I knew that I would not be able to see it where I had planned to put it. It fires down to concrete and site in the corner of the garage. I am using it instead of a traditional home theater style self powered subwoofer. I was able to build a box that fit my needs and enjoy the project while saving money as well. I included some pics to add to the already well reviewed product. Still going through a modest break in period and it sounded great from the start - with about 25 hours of play time on it now it is sounding better all the time. I would not hesitate to buy again. I knocked it one star for the trim ring. Mine was cracked with only very mild torque on the screw. It happened more than once. I was not over driving them in and I was not using a power hammer either. I just like them snug for a sealed box and the trim ring could be a bit more robust. For some fun I removed the stickers from the magnet and dressed up my box with them. Good luck with your projects! john

Great Subs For Cheap Price
I bought two of these and hooked it up to the boss amp made to handle two of these at once and it worked perfectly. I had them for a year and a half and they make a lot of bass. I only have my amp set at 75% power because if its at 100% I cannot see through my review mirror and my side mirrors were shaking badly. One sub just blew on me today so that is why I am on here to buy another. If you have not had a system before or very little experienced you should start with these they are cheap and you can have them hit hard or soft for really cheap. If you like what you hear then save money for a year or two then go buy some really nice subs with big thump. Or be like me and just keep buying these because there really isnt anything wrong with these subs!

works great 4 me
I bought this sub with very high hopes for great bass with the 1400 watt pyle amp that i bought from amazon at the same time and i was not let down! I have it hooked up in my house with a small 640 watt power acoustic amp which aint that great but it dont drag the sub down on quality. What i like most with this sub is that it has deep hard hitting very good sounding bass no matter where i put it, and it can be heard from a distance! Another thing i like about this sub is that it would be hard to damage because of the hard material it is made of. I do not have any downs on this product from Amazon, im proud of my purchase and i DEFINATELY recomend you to buy this sub if you want a lous system, i plan to buy three more myself, one more for my car when i get it from the shop and two to keep hooked up in my house! Thank you for your time and i hope i helped you with your descision. Follow up; ok, so i have had two of these now for seems like a year lol, they still function like new. i have gotten a bunch of new stuff as like bigger amp wire, a 2 farad cap, custom seald doul sub box, and so on. these things turn heads like crazy let me tell you. they make my trunk look like its coming off the car, my doors litteraly flex, ant it shakes the concrete floor in my house. with the right setup these thimgs are killer. when ppl i kno hear my system they ask where i got the money!! lol an i love it cuz these are so cheap!! i dont see where u could go wrong

Okay for the money, was expecting a little more.
I rated 3 starts because of a few reasons. There are definitely better subs out there and this was a downgrade from my old Kenwood system that got stole. On the bright side, it is enough base to enjoy the music. With my set-up I can listen to music and enjoy it and not have an overwhelming amount of base to an extent that I can only hear base.

Great value subwoofer.
I've been a car audio casual with subs in my car for almost 30 years and this is probably the best value I've ever seen. For a little over a hundred bucks you can get a pair of subs rated for 700 watts RMS each & the 3 year warranty in case you're a little nervous about the durability (I did). I'm running these off and old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 200.2 that's only capable of about 45 percent of what these are rated for. Even though they're under-amped and still in the break in phase, these speakers are trunk and window rattling beasts. Assuming they hold up, there can't possibly be a louder way to drop a single Benjamin in the whole world. What they are NOT is a speaker you want to brag about or show off. They are a pretty cheesy looking silver, the name brand carries no prestige, and those friends with serious money in their system will get snotty. That said, these are a bass-on-a-budget starter kit if that's what you're after.

Skip this for the love of god its a waste of your money
I hooked this 1400 watt sub to a 600 watt amp and low and behold while I was surprised ato the pathetic size of the magnet I thought well maybe they've been able to figure out a more efficient method that reduces the magnet requirements for a good sub.....nope this sub lasted a couple short weeks and blew. I never once pushed the limits on it and only wanted a good clear sub to supplement the bass output so I could just start to "feel" the music in a single cab pickup. I was highly dissapointed that the sub blew when I put all new wiring in that was intentionally above the recommendations so as to ensure the longevity of my investment. I have learned my lesson you truly will always get what you pay for. This sub should be rated as a 200 or 300 watt sub if a 600 watt peak amp will blow it without even remotely pushing it

Best for the price
I stumbled upon this sub as I was looking for something cheap that would give me good sound. So I took a chance and purchased this sub. When I got it I was happy, it looked nice and it have a ring to put around the sub for extra decoration. So I put it in an enclosure that I had and hooked it up to my amp and tried it out. I was surprised at the sound, I couldn't help it but smile. I enjoy bass, I like it when my car rattles, I got exactly what I needed from the sub. I delivers clean bass and it shakes my whole car, my car is small it's a Toyota Camry. I have a 800 watt amp hocked up to this and it powers on 400 as I have 2 subs. One is an old Rockford Fosgate. I actually like this sub so much that I am going to purchase another one, I bought my first one for 30 bucks and it hasn't blown out on me and it has almost been 1 full year. So if your thinking about buying this and you have 30 bucks to spare do it I promise you, you won't regret it.
