Work great
Worked great. I didnโt love the rubber washers for installing on an igloo cooler because theyโre not thick enough and leaked. I put other larger washers on the the leak stopped. The valve itself is great quality and has performed well for several batches of beer. I think this will last for years.

Avoid leaks, Tape All Threads
Excellent kit with all necessary parts for my Gott cooler. Leaked at first but this was solved by using the supplied Teflon tape on inside as well as outside threads. I used the supplied silicone washers on both inside and outside against the cooler surface.

Not bad, but ...
For the money this isn't a bad ball valve, but I don't like the included double male nipple. It's too short, and there's no reason to have the hex nut in the center. I used it in a mash tun for homebrewing, maybe it's better for other applications. It doesn't leak, that I've noticed, and it's easy enough to install.

Follow the instructions all will be ok
Prior to this purchase I was at first not sure due to some of the reviews. Then after looking at some of the pictures and re-reading the reviews in question that had pictures, all I have to say is those folks cannot follow simple instructions. YES you have to use the Teflon tape and I recommend wrapping at least 4/5 times. In addition the silicone washer goes on the INSIDE, not the outside. Use two adjustable wrenches when building too, donโt worry about over tightening, yet do not put HeMan strength into it. I did not put Teflon tape on the inside, since thatโs why there is the silicone washer, also for sanitary reasons to clean. Lastly I am very satisfied with this purchase, for it saved me a ton of cash not having to purchase a pre made wort chiller and separator that goes for up to 250 dollars. Also first time filling with water it DID NOT LEAK.

It leaks!
Took for every to get this because somehow Amazon lost the original shipment. I got it today, put it together and installed it. The install was into a Lowes round 10 gallon igloo cooler. It went pretty easy, using only the teflon tape the valve came with, washer, and nut. I reused the rubber gasket and plastic washer that was in the cooler. Now for the leak test... I poured 3 gallons of water in the cooler to check for leaks.. I didn't see any leaks around the bulkhead or where I jointed the nipple to the valve. But I have a leak.. it's really slow, but it's there... Watching it for a min, I noticed water coming out the valve.. ... sure nuff.... I guess the valve just isn't a water tight fit... I'm going to see if it gets worse, or not.. possibly stop?? Don't know.. but I have to rate it 1 star because it leaks through the valve itself.. Anyone know if there's anything I can do to stop a leak like this?

Perfect for what I needed it for
I needed this at work to make a water barrel out of an old 200l oil barrel for the jet wash. I drilled a hole in the side of it and used all the sealing washers provided and it works perfect. Brilliant value for money and the build quality is really good

Great modular tap for homebrew.
I got this for homebrew. I usually make large batches of Mead a few times a year and using a label or pot to move the brew was a pain. So I decided to add this to my largest cooking pot. If it was good I was also thinking of replacing the old ball valve tap I had on the oak barrel. This is a good bit of kit. It's modular and gives you lots of choice to change later down the line. The weldless bulkhead is great for attaching to pots or odd shaped barrels. Just make sure you have access to the inside to tighten it properly.they include spare silicone seals which is a huge plus and makes life easier. It is stainless steel and easy to clean, it should also resist any rust for a long time. The tap uses a ball valve so no need to worry about rubber degrading. They're also food safe and VERY reliable. So no drips or leaks. The barbed end is a plus as you can attach a hose easily for draining off and because it is modular you could also change to a different fitting. Good quality and value. Highly recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful
