Review: Fantastic watch, and a real bargain! - I love Grand Seiko, and Citizen Chronomaster, but those watches are not in my budget. I never thought about Casio until reading reviews about this watch. I am glad I decided to give Casio a try, as this JDM watch is fantastic. Great design and finishing on the bracelet, watch face, and case. The comments by others about the difficulty of taking out links of the bracelet are valid ones. If you don’t have the proper tools and experience, do yourself a favor and take it to a quality jeweler that works on watches, and tell them that the watch has a bracelet with the pin and sleeve type links. The watch is easy to set up, and the second hand hits the marks on the watch face exactly. After the time synchs with the atomic clock, it is amazing to compare with the time on your cell phone, and see the minute change on your phone at the same time as the second hand on your watch hits the twelve o’clock position. It is amazing to set the time zone to Tokyo and watch tha watch hands and date change like magic. The titanium bracelet and cas are so light weight that you don’t even notice that you are wearing a watch. A great bargain on a top quality watch. The brand may not have the same status as some, but the watch itself lacks nothing compared to the others. Update: After 3 months, This watch has become my daily watch. My dozen or so other watches have been sidelined, and I am considering selling most of them. I often wear another dressier watch in the evening, but this watch is so versatile and comfortable, there is little reason to wear anything else. It has missed synchronizing only one night in 3 months, and that is when we were staying overnight in an RV, although it worked the other nights in the camper. I have picked up a few minor scratches and tiny scuffs, but the finish is much harder to scratch than stainless steel or regular titanium. For traveling, this is the only watch I bother bringing. For a one watch guy, this could be the one for you. This watch has a number of highly desirable features that are difficult to find all together on one watch which make it an exceptional product: • Both the case and bracelet are made from TIC treated titanium with an attractive combination of brushed and polished finishes. Treated/hardened Titanium is stronger, lighter, and about as scratch resistant as stainless steel (total weight of about 3oz). Most titanium watches are not treated or hardened and are much easier to scratch than stainless steel. So this watch should stay looking good for a long time. • The case measures about 41mm in diameter, about 11 mm thick and about 46 mm lug to lug. The bracelet is sized up to 7.9" and has both full and half size removable (pinned) links and an adjustable clasp. These make for a watch that’s going to look good and fit well on a wide variety of wrist sizes. • The watch has a sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating, making is very clear, readable, and extremely scratch resistant. • This has am analog tough solar atomic movement, which means it will be much more resistant to impact and magnetic damage than any mechanical watch, it will never need winding or a battery change (its internal storage cell can eventually wear out and need replacing but that’s often 10-20 years or more), and it will be more accurate than any mechanical watch (it syncs with an atomic clock every night in most parts of the world), so you may never need to set the time except when changing time zones. It's quick to adjust to time zones for 29 cities. Once fully charged by light it can run for up to a year without light, and remain charged but inactive in the dark for up to 3 years. Average daily use should keep it charged without any special effort. • The face is very attractive, clean, and readable with a black dial, applied hour markers of emerald cut blue colored crystals painted on top with white lume, polished and lumed sword hour and minute hands, a blue and white second hand with small counterbalance lume pip, a nice legible date window with black numerals on white background at the 3 o'clock position, minutes markers and city names (for time zone adjustments) are printed in white (no lume) around the chapter ring. The lume glows a white-blue, with overall good brightness and duration for its area and thickness. This is very subjective, but the only down side I've noted on this watch are that the blue crystals and accents can make the watch look a bit cheap in some lighting, and of course if you hate blue, this is not the watch for you. • The watch has a pretty good interface for an analog quartz watch. While most folks will be able to just choose a timezone/city to set the watch, it will allow you to set the year, month, day, and time manually with some extra effort, and it will be accurate to about 0.5 seconds a day (15 seconds a month) even where it can not sync with atomic time. It has a perpetual calendar through to 2099 so it will compensate for shorter and longer months and leap years so the correct day of month is always shown until then. Changing time zone is a simple as pulling out the crown (which causes the second hand to point to the currently set city) and turning it so the second hand points at the new city, then pushing the crown back in (the time will adjust and resume at the correct time for that city). Excellent for air travel. This is a great looking watch, suitable anywhere from fairly casual to fairly dressy, that’s tough, durable, accurate, and relatively maintenance free. While I have a variety of mechanical and quartz and hybrid watches over a wide price range, if I were to recommend an "only watch" for someone, this would be it. Highly recommended.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great watch, great value!

This is my second Oceanus and it has not disappointed. It arrived in a nice box, well-packaged, already set and running on Tokyo time. A quick pull of the crown and adjustment to my time zone and it was ready to use. These watches are solar powered with power-saving modes and an incredible power reserve, they synchronize time with a radio reference every night so they're always correct to the second, they have a G-Shock-style tough movement, perpetual date, automatic DST adjustment, robust water resistance, very nicely-finished hard-coated titanium case and bracelet, and they even automatically adjust the hands so they are always aligned perfectly. The one flaw is the integrated bracelet - it cannot be swapped out for a strap. Oh well. It is a very nicely finished bracelet so not a big deal to me. A great watch by any measure, and a great value for the cost.
