It's pure Potassium Nitrate so yes. In fertiliser terms, this used to be known as "nitrate of potash", so simply use it in the same way, however I couldn't say what the usage rate should be for this type of application, hopefully you or Google will know..

really good product

I buy this to clean alloy engine cases . it works a lot better than brake fluid but its a bit slow.The best way ive found is 4 pints of water to 250g of saltpetre and heat in a pan an place alloy parts in solution. slow but exellent resuts
