I’ve been really impressed with the VonHaus Cordless Grass Trimmer, especially considering the price point. It feels like a great quality tool and has handled my small garden with ease. The battery life is decent – I can comfortably trim the whole garden on a single charge. It comes with both the battery and charger included, which is a big plus compared to some other models. One of my favourite features is the fence guard. It lets me get close to the fence without worrying about damaging the blade or hitting the panels. The edge guide is another really handy touch, especially for getting a cleaner line around the garden edges. The plastic blades work really well for strimming grass. I’ve found them much simpler to deal with than the usual strimmer wire, which can be fiddly and prone to tangling. Plus, VonHaus includes plenty of spare blades that clip right onto the handle for easy access – and replacements are easy to buy separately when needed. If I had to mention one con, it’s that while the fence guard is great for protecting both the blade and fence, it does stop you from trimming right up against the edge. So for a super-neat finish, you might need to either remove the guard or tidy up the edges with some clippers. Overall, though, I think this is a fantastic product for the price. It’s well-designed, efficient, and ideal for small gardens. I’d definitely recommend it if you're looking for a budget-friendly, no-fuss strimmer.

The first strimmer I ordered arrived without a battery or charger. After paying to return it via Royal Mail (for my convenience) I tried again. The second unit arrived and has worked without issue. I only give this transaction 3/5 because the first unit arrived in an unbranded box and was clearly a rejected strimmer, the second had much superior packaging. Did they not think that I would not notice that the strimmer was not operational?

I inadvertently allowed my garden to seriously resemble a jungle--no really, the grass is at least knee-high and I was starting to think I'd need a guide to get to the back fence. My poor lawn mower was cowering in fear at the mere thought of attempting to get the stuff under control, so I decided I'd need a strimmer to cut it down to size. After a bit of googling, and learning that cord strimmers leave small bits of plastic everywhere as they are used, I decided that a plastic blade was a better choice (not perfect-still plastic, but better) and the VonHaus seemed to tick all the boxes. I was not disappointed! It came mostly assembled, only requiring the guard to be added, and had a fully charged battery. It's lightweight and easy to hold, and can be extended so that me (5'3") my 6'4" husband can both easily use it (a rarity). It came with 10 plastic blades, but I've cut quite a bit of my (very overgrown) garden and a friend's (not quite so overgrown) garden on one blade. The battery lasts very well, and charges quickly. Not having a cord to mess with is a real plus! It does require a bit of practice, with long grass you need to cut from the top a few inches at a time or the grass winds around the spindle. A bit of a pain, but easy enough to clear. All in all, I'm very pleased and it makes strimming less of a chore.

The strimmer is good quality and a good battery life however the Blades don't allow for a precise and neat cut and wear out very quick to do my small front garden I had to use 4 blades.shall be going back to my old streamer with a line instead of these plastic blades shame..As I have lots of Von Hass tools .

Below is my initial review however after owning this for just over a month and using it just to edge the lawn, it’s stopped working. I’ve checked the battery etc which is fine so the issue seems to be with the motor. Went onto Amazon site and I am 3 days out of the return window and there’s no way of contacting the seller to get a replacement or sort the issue out. It’s been used about 4 times since purchase and I would have though it would have lasted longer than a month. Buyers beware, if it goes wrong you can’t return it. What a waste of money. Purchased this as I needed something light. It is light weight and the battery seems to pack a good bit of power. It lasted well over an hour in trimming my lawns with still 2 light bars left (max charge has 3 light bars). Press a button on the battery and it shows the amount of charge left in light bars. It charges quickly too. I don’t think it suitable for very heavy strimming of thick shrubbery etc but for lawns it’s fine. I would have given 5 stars however the only gripe I have is the amount of strimmer blades it seems to go through. I went through half a dozen really quickly and they don’t seem to last long at all. Especially if you hit a stone or solid surface. The other gripe is availability of replacement blades. I did some searching before purchase and the reviews of cheaper general purpose blades that people have used on this strimmer were poor. I couldn’t find any for the this exact make of strimmer (they were all universal for a number of different makes) until I came across some on eBay having had to search on model number of the strimmer itself. Over £7 for 20 and waiting for them to arrive. I have also found that B&Q sell them however they are completely out of stock on line and having enquired in store. I would advise it’s a good little strimmer, especially if you need something light weight, however be aware of the amount of blades you will go through and stock up as the blades that come with the strimmer won’t last long and it might not be cost effective in the long run given the cost of blades.

Bought this 2 days ago and finally put it together today. Read other reviews some were good some were bad. I have made my own judgement and I think for £64.99 its worth every penny. I wanted a light weight no cord trimmer so I can pop out and give the garden a quick once over if I want it extra tidy and around the farm yard. I used it for a full half hour none stop without a battery charge. I used up 3 blades - using up one on grass over hanging cobblestones - it cleaned them up brilliantly but is hard on the blades. I used the guard when strimming against a wall but found once the tip had gone I couldn't get close enough so I clicked the guard out of the way and carried on. If you are cautious you can strim huge areas before replacing a blade, if you are gung ho - you could replace every 3 minutes - so be careful. It trimmed clumps of grass no problem. Round trees easy peasy - for me its mostly around a farm yard and up against walls so I will use more blades than most. Along the edge of lawns / borders was a doddle. I will purchase replacement blades through Amazon various ones on offer and some suggest better wearing ones on offer than those which arrive with trimmer. My friend is now going to purchase one as she like me needed a cordless trimmer so I have sent her the details. I personally don't think any one would be disappointed.
