Buff one of my new favorites...
One of my new favorites in my palette box. I don't normally like too many of my paints to have a grainy look when dried but for this buff color it's perfect. It will make it a breeze making sandy looking beaches and for lime stone buildings and so much more. Loved the creamy feel as I washed it across the paper and as I added layers, it just became more interesting and fun to work with. I feel quality paints are so worth it. Years ago I made the mistake of using cheap stuff and know now the money I thought I was saving while I practiced, I didn't save because I wasted my time with products that faded and flaked off the paper. You time is worth money too, so invest in good artist quality paints in the beginning. Just start with a few and you can expand with time. If you think your just learn with the cheap paints your not because they don't mix the same as quality pigments. I have a few go to brands in my palette and Daniel Smith is one of the great ones.

Love this color and brand
takes some getting used to but i enjoy working with DS colors. be careful when first using- a lot tends to come out of the tube with very little pressure Their 24 1/2 pan collection and 12 1/2 pan Inspiration colors palette are a pleasure to use- good mixing/blending and layering. most colors are lovely

Got to love Daniel Smith!
I purchased the pocket half pan set years ago and fell in love with Buff titanium. Being the most opaque of the pigments, it is almost more of a gouache but it holds the same blending properties as the rest of the set. It pairs well with indigo, burnt sienna, and ultramarine. I have also been working more with quinac. rose/BT blend which creates a dreamy evening sunset color. I really think every Daniel Smith connoisseur should have this pigment on hand! Shipping was okay. Found myself wishing it shipped in a box instead of a bag, but it arrived safely.

I am not a huge DS fan, but -
This is a great color, one that is indispensable for painting undertones in animal fur. That said, I personally recommend putting it in a pan and letting it dry before use. I always find DS to be really "sticky" and gummy fresh from the tube. Once panned and dried it worked great and is a lovely, lovely color.
