These work well. Wife burns one of those jar candles every night, so I go through a lot of candles. I realized years ago that if you trim the wick each night before lighting, they'll last a lot longer.If one type has a thin wick, you would leave it longer so that all the wax on the sides of the jar is burned off. But if it's all burning off, I trim it down with a pair of regular scissors before lighting each night. About 1/4 inch seems right for the candles we buy (from the largest big-box brick-and-mortar store in the world).These are perfectly shaped for doing this job, and no more having the trimmed remnants falling to the bottom of the candle. Trimmings sit right on top, and there are little built-up areas on each side that act like fences and keep the trimmed piece on top so it's easy to discard.My only gripe is that the holes are pretty small - way too small to get my big blocky thumb in. But I can get just enough in there to make it work without slipping off. If you check out the photos, you'll see what I mean. That glass is a good example of how deep you can go with them.Overall, I'm happy. For the price, you can't beat it.

I've been looking for a wick trimmer and finally found a great one! Sturdy, easy to use and gets down into those taller candles.

These were so handy-dandy I ordered a second! Love these snippers for reaching down into a jar candle to clip to appropriate length versus trying to finagle a scissors down in there and get a proper trim. You do have to be careful, though, as you could easily cut it too short. Highly recommend.

The edge is not very sharp, so like an unsharpened scissor or knife, sometimes I have to readjust or try again to get a clean cut. That said, it does the job, and not messy - the cut out piece stays at the base of the trimmer.It does look durable.

This item was more reasonably priced than other options so I decided to buy. Glad I did! Solid product. I plan on buying more at Christmas to give with candles as gifts.

I really like these! I have been using them all the time and they cut perfectly and have not had any issues at all. Recommend these to anyone that needs this type of thing. It really does make life easier for those that have to cut wicks often!

Love my candles to have a clean cut to lessen the smoke. The color is giving sleek, very durable, and just the right thickness. The clean cut doesn’t even require cleaning just a quick dump of the burnt wick.

I’ve been meaning to get one of these for a while now. It does what it’s supposed to do. It’s sturdy and works well. Easy to use. I do not recommend getting any that have a painted coating; the first one I bought had a black coating to it, and it was already chipping off before I even used it once. I returned it and bought this one instead.

Great pair of scissors, trim the wick beautifully to start, then, after the wick has had some burn 🔥 time, trimming the wick again all gets caught by the special design catch plate so no burnt wood on the candle.Great 👍.

I had second thoughts after I'd placed my order as I thought it was possibly an unnecessary luxury but now I'm glad I bought it.Where you have tall candles that have burned down a bit leaving high sides it can be difficult to use scissors on the wick. In the past, I either didn't bother trimming (which was a mistake in terms of soot, too big a flame or wick curling) or I've resorted to nail clippers, but they're no good if the wick is deep down inside a high walled candle and the clippers aren't long enough to reach it.The only change I would make is for the cutting edges to be at 90 degrees to the handle rather than 100 to make it even easier to use with smaller diameter candles. Still good though which is why I bought a couple.

Great to cut wick but can be difficult when the candle is tall

Neat and accurate cut, it even catches the cut off wick for you rather than trying to fish it out of the candle yourself.Candles do burn better with a trim of the wick.

These are a great addition to my wife’s great candle selection. She used to have difficulty trimming the wicks but now the solution has been found. Sturdy,easy to use and a snip at the price. (Excuse the pun)
