The #1 text in Sports Medicine! This cornerstone textbook has been updated with the latest research and developments. Brukner & Khan's world-leading title provides an authoritative foundation for clinicians and students. This complete practical guide to physiotherapy and musculoskeletal medicine covers all aspects of diagnosis and contemporary management of sports-related injuries. The fifth edition has been expanded to accommodate a much higher level of evidence-based content and reflects the huge amount of new research and significant changes in thinking since the previous edition was published. The contributing editors are an international compilation of globally recognised experts within their fields. This is essential reading for sports medicine physicians, physical therapists and physical therapy students. Topics in Volume Two Include: โขExercise and health โขExercise and disease โขEnvironment โขHarassment and abuse โขSpecial groups โขMaximising athletic performance โขNutrition for performance Review: Todo ok - Todo ok Review: Dr Mason doesn't know what he doesn't know - This a good chapter as it covers cutting edge subject with new opinion. I don't agree with all the opinion which is why I gave it only 3 stars. Despite Atkins diet I have not had a level glucose as Paul suggests would be okay. I am healthy because I take statin and keep my LDLp below 750. If you have a low level of LDL particles it doesn't really matter how many of them are small in size. I advised CAC for my patients with one risk factor. Paul agrees with me. Paul gets yearly CIMT on his patients to monitor progress of plaque. I asked patients to get them every 2 years. It's good to see academic Australia being open to Low Carbohydrate High Fat diet. Look forward to see how many patients in Dr Mason's clinic maintain their weight for 5-10 years.
