KLIQ UberTuner Clip On Guitar Tuner -Black

I’m pretty new to this. In fact, I just started to play the guitar a couple of weeks ago. Someone told me that I needed to get a tuner so I looked around at a few. I was contemplating between this one by KLIQ and another one by Yamaha but eventually went for this after reading a bunch of reviews. It seemed easy to use and that’s what mattered to me. The package came quickly and I tried it right away. It comes with a clip so you can just attach it to the guitar. The construction seems solid, I don’t see it breaking any time soon. I must have, the display looks really nice. Everything is very bright and clear no matter what angle you’re looking at it from. I wasn’t sure how to use it exactly at first but I eventually got the hang of it and was able to tune my guitar just fine. During my tuner research I came across these musicians earplugs so I picked some up to help me focus on tuning. They actually work pretty well so I still wear them when I’m playing (especially if there’s a lot of background noise). The only thing is I wish there was some sort of sleep mode. That would prevent me from having to leave it running the entire time, which I’m guessing will eventually take a toll on the battery. Speaking of battery, it uses the flat kind that’s the size of a quarter. It comes with the tuner however so you don’t have to worry about having to buy it separately. To put it in, you have to pull out the drawer first. It’s pretty simple. So yes, I’m happy with my purchase. The price was reasonable and the quality is there. I would gladly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a tuner for their instrument! I forgot to mention this but the company also offers a good warranty so there’s that too. Considering that, you really can’t go wrong with making the purchase.

I am not at all musically inclined, but I sent this as a gift to a guitar virtuoso relative who was kind enough to provide his initial impressions. His comments follow; From the packaging it’s immediately evident that the Kliq Ubertuner All Instrument Clip-on Tuner is a superior version of the ubiquitous clip-on tuners you see on so many instruments at so many gigs. This is a very refined technical version of the concept of a Piezo sensor-based tuning technology. In essence, the tuner does not “hear” the note it is asked to legitimize, it “feels” it through the vibration generated by the string and transmitted through the guitar body up through the neck. The KLIQ specifies its Tuning Precision as +/- 1%. In practical terms, you achieve a perfectly-tuned guitar by following the simple directions, keeping in mind that the nuance of bringing a string “up to” pitch from a flat rather than “down” from a sharp is a rule that predates any kind of tuning technology. The KLIQ sets up in two or three minutes.The battery compartment snaps open, the included 2032 "button" battery is inserted PLUS side up, and battery drawer is snapped back into the body. An easy-to-find Power On/Off button wakes up the sensor, and away you go. As a guitar player, I set the Tuning Mode to “G” (Guitar) and I hit the low E (6th) string. It’s sharp as the red bars tell me. I tune down past where the E should be, and slowly twist the tuning knob (the one that tightens the string) until the yellow indicator lights go to the top of the readout, and the center circle turns solid green. The readout in the center of the screen confirms that I am working on the E6 string. I follow the procedure for the remaining five strings, being sure to tune “up" each time. When I overdo it, and the red sharp indicators flash on, I make sure to turn back down past the note I’m trying to nail, and then slowly creep up to it. If you ever get the sense that the tuner isn’t “working,” it may be because you tune down to a note, which always leaves a little bit of slack in the string, which then causes it to drift out of tune pretty quickly. You may also have some looseness in your tuning pegs, or slop in the way the string is wound around the peg. Bridge pins have to be solidly in place, too. If your E6 string registers perfect pitch, and you're out of tune as you play notes going up the neck, you may have set-up issues like overly high action which requires too much stretch when you play a note, which of course, changes (sharps) the pitch. If everything else on the instrument (I can only talk about guitars) is where it should be, the KLIQ Ubertuner can be relied on to do its job precisely. It is user-friendly. You can swivel it to keep the screen in virtually any position you prefer. You can tune, shut off the power to save the battery, and start the KLIQ up again with the touch of a button. Other features include a choice of tuning modes… Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Violin, and Ukulele. There are calibration possibilities, and transposition settings. The unit weighs 1.4 Ounces, so there’s no risk of neck strain if you leave the tuner clipped to the headstock. It is a professional, all-black little gem that I affix to vintage guitars with no fear of damage. All in all, this is the pick of the litter, and a slick way to improve your sound and get things back to where they should be quickly and smoothly after a lot of string bending or vigorous playing. A lot of students give up because their playing never gets beyond that beginners’ sound. In my experience, it’s a tuning issue 9 out of 10 times. The KLIQ may mean the difference between giving up, and going on to play Carnegie Hall.

Really good tuner! Easily read and fast at gauging appropriate open string guitar notes!

This is quite possibly the greatest thing I have ever spent money on. You will never desire to use a handheld tuner, tuning fork, pitch pipe, rack mounted tuner, stomp box tuner, plug and play tuner, built in amp tuner, tuner app, DAW interface tuner, or any thing else once you use this. You can tune to any cent you want and it's fully chromatic. That means you can get any tuning you want out of it - open tunings and microtonal tunings alike! And it works so well too! I recently switched string gauges, reset the action and reintonated one of my seven strings. It was so easy I actually looked forward to setting up my eight string! It also automatically shuts off if you haven't plucked a string for a while, conserving battery power while providing you ample time to fine tune your instrument It's stylish too! I promise it'll turn heads in the practice studio. The only single knock I can think of is that it has issues picking up the low F# string on my eight string guitar when trying to downtune it to drop E (that would be an E1 {EBEADGBE}). It can read F# and F and I even think D#, but it just has a little trouble finding the sweet spot for E on that string. I haven't tried it with a bass guitar and I mention that since the low E on a standard bass matches the note I'm trying to tune to. I doubt that it wouldn't pick up the note on a bass since the gauge and scale are so much larger and provide better resonance through the headstock. That said, the tuner does still read the note, it just doesn't pick it up as quick. I think overtones from the other 7 strings (even when muted) might interfere at that frequency. I am still giving it five start because it's hard for me to fault it for that when that particular string is so difficult to tune, even by ear! So to sum it up, this tuner works better than any I've ever used before. The only minor issue I have is on a regular guitar trying to tune to E1. I'm sure it would be able to tune to that note on a real bass. I'm now convinced that everything should come in clip-on form. Do yourself a favor and buy this tuner now!

I practice my guitar every day so I’m writing this review after using this tuner several times a day for a while. This tuner is worth paying double the price of a snark Tuner (in my eyes) First some observations and possibly leasons learned: 1. I am a stickler for my instrument being perfectly tuned and my snark never seemed to do that nor was it quick ...so longer time before you can tune the next string was what was happening. And my Snark never seemed to really nail the tuning #%@*&! 2. I have a habit of taking the tuner off the guitar (don’t want marks) after each use and had a habit of clamping my snark to the metal tubing of my stand. Im not going to do this anymore because maybe, maybe it stretches out the clamping spring in the tuner and makes it less accurate (note: some tuners advertise “tight” meaning that the tuner is better if its very tight on the headstock). I decided to start clamping it to my guitar strap when on the stand which is thin and won’t stretch the spring in the clamping part of the tuner this time around! 3. Not the best that you have to hold the button down to turn on and also turn off (maybe for 2or 3 seconds) but i guess it saves on it not coming on accidentally. I wouldn’t deam of taking off one star for just that :) .. it’s main job is indication of tune and this KLIQ UberTuner is an outstanding tuner! Superior to my last tuner which was half the price! 4. Each time you put a new battery in (not each time you use it) you must select guitar using the mode button. Easy to do and no big deal! Note: i have no idea on how long before battery changes yet so can’t comment on that. 5. When i hit the string this tuner gives you positive and quick indication that the string is in tune. Or not in tune. I am very visual and tuner is great for that!!! Indication is simular to my last tuner but better. This is my tuner from now-on for sure!!

I have played guitar for more than 5 decades and spent many of those years playing professionally, and do so currently. I've owned just about every tuner known to man or woman - this little gizmo is my favorite. I will leave the tech details to others, who have done a fine job of laying those down in other reviews. All I care about is - it works. It not only works, it works great. I just bought this thing and after trying it out on both electric and acoustic guitars and on my resonator guitar, I just ordered another one. I could never get a tuning that completely satisfied my ears with a Snark or a Planet Waves clip on tuner, they come close enough to work on the fly, close enough for normal ears, and are convenient. I use them around the house when I don't want to plug in my tuner pedal, which tunes extremely accurately, I also use them on gigs where I don't want an extra cord lying around and for acoustic jams as well. But finally, here is a clip on tuner that tunes right. It even gets low D right on a drop D tuning on an electric guitar strung with Super Slinkys, something the other clip ons have problems with. The only downside is actually an upside for me - it is huge in comparison to a Snark and especially in comparison to the little Planet Waves tuner, which is the best of this breed for being invisible to the audience on stage. So, I might unclip the KLIQ on stage after tuning or not, probably not. The reason that hugeness is also a plus is, the thing can be seen! Even my aging eyes have no problems reading this, the light and display are very bright, the display is big enough to be seen from space. And did I mention it really tunes? I swear I have never heard my resonator sound so in tune before, and to a musician, that is huge - more than that, it's a joy. Just be aware that this is bigger than a Snark, like amusingly bigger. Also built way better. Great clip on tuner, made this old guitar picker smile big time.

First of all, I received two emails from a lovely lady named Laura, who identified herself as one of the company's owners, shortly after I received the product. She thanked me for buying KLIQ Tuner and attached a PDF of the manual. I also received 2 follow-up emails to ensure that I was happy with and enjoying my new tuner. That customer service right off the bat was a good sign. I mean, we all often hear about unresponsive customer service from other companies that fail to respond to email, U.S. mail and/or phone calls. So Lovely Laura's emails were, in my experience, a rare occurrence. I inserted my battery, but could not seem to get the tuner to work (and still can't). I emailed Laura and she was apologetic. But, to my surprise, she promptly offered to send me a new tuner via next day mail! It arrived as promised and works great. The display is very bright and easy to view. The yellow to the left lights if the string is flat and the red to the right lights up if you're sharp. The best part is when the string is in tune, the green arrow in the middle AND the entire circle light up green. But the reason I bought this tuner in the first place was its apparent ability to swivel in any direction without breaking. You can see the solid construction of this device from the photos. I own a tuner sold by a company that rhymes with my first name and, like others say, their products eventually end up breaking. The ball joint on their tuner is surrounded by 3 partial pieces of plastic which, when you move the tuner's head, come loose and snap off. I tried gluing mine with a strong glue and it was a mess. Not so with the KLIQ Tuner. One end of the stem is totally enveloped by the head of the tuner. The other end, which is connected to the clip, is affixed with two small hex nuts. Remember: all of these tuners are made of plastic, so you have to take care of them if you want them to last. That said, you won't be disappointed with the KLIQ guitar tuner, especially compared to other tuners I have seen. The display is bright, is readily visible and is discernible. The tuner can be easily arranged in about any position you want without concern that its connection to the clip will break. And the customer service is top notch. I'm sure I'll buy more to put in several of my other guitar cases.

It's an amazing little piece of equipment and so necessary if you're playing stringed instruments. The directions for the up and down orientation of the battery were a little sketchy so it was a coin toss to get the thing going. Once I did, I was off and running, tuned up in no time. Attaches easily and the joints allow for easy viewing from whichever placement you choose. The display is vibrant, sensory response is rapid. I highly recommend this device to all serious musicians.

El afinador es bastante poderoso - su flexibilidad está muy por encima de otros afinadores. El 1% de precisión es perfecto para usar en casa, también por la rapidez en la que muestra las notas. Cromático, Guitarra, Bajo, Violín y Ukulele. Sí, tarda dos segundo en encender, y aún así, no es un punto negativo. Flexibilidad también pues se puede ajustar entre 430hz y 450hz. Observen cuidadosamente la instalación de la batería. El manual únicamente está impreso en inglés, está muy completo.

Acquistato per mio figlio che si allena con la tromba. Però diciamo che sarà per uso per tutta la famiglia, perché si adatta a tanti strumenti musicali. E' quella la cosa bella, è piccolo, leggero e si aggancia allo strumento. Dicitura anglo sassone delle note, però direi pare accurato e funzionare bene e fare il suo uso.

One of the best guitar tuner available

This is a good little tuner and I sense that the company are customer-friendly, judging by comments that they have left in response to some unhappy reviewers. The screen is bright and clear, the display stable and precise, and tuning is a much quicker process for me now. I also like the fact that - unlike a lot of revered tuners like the Boss TU-3, this little tuner can be calibrated to 432Hz (the Boss only goes to 436Hz), which could be important if you want to experiment with that tuning and its alleged benefits with a degree of convenience. Construction: well, like most things it's plastic. But it appears to be designed well enough to last with sensible use, but not abuse. The battery can be changed quickly without fuzz (a coin battery, the number of which escapes me) and according to other reviews, will need changing about once a year. Value for money: at the current Amazon price of £15, I think it represents good value for money. It's at least £20 elsewhere. And with a 2 or 3 year warranty, with a decent company to back that warranty, I think it's a great buy.

Un afinador muy preciso, la pantalla tiene unos colores y calidad excepcional, muy rápido en la lectura, la verdad que después de pasar por varios de este estilo es una pasada, otra cosa, la pila dura mucho.
