Bionaire BTF4010CR-BCU Tower Fan Combo, 40" 3 Speed Tower Fan & 12 " 2 Speed Mini Fan

The fan worked OK for 6 months, then quit. All functions (green indicator lights, auto swivel) worked except the one that counts: the fan. Even before, the remote was iffy--sometines failed to control the fan, and it was usually impossible to get the swivel to reverse action (you had to let the fan go all the way through the cycle and stop it when it was aimed where you wanted it). Before the fan broke, I would give it 3 stars, because it did move the air well. But even a dirt-cheap plastic fan from the corner drugstore works far longer than this.

I was kinda skeptical about the Lakewood and Lasko fan reviews and decided to try this fan. It indeed has great airflow even the small desk fan that comes with it. On speed 1 of 3 you hardly notice its on but has great airflow - I can feel a slow steady breeze about 15 feet away - perfect for keeping near the foot of the bed. speed 3 of 3 and i can feel the air bouncing off the walls and any angled surface in my bedroom, in a large room id imagine you could feel it a good 35-40 feet away pretty easily. Even on its highest speed yes it becomes a little noisy but what fan doesn't? It kind of reminds me of someone using a hairdryer in the bathroom with the door closed kinda motor whirling sound or a laptop cooling fan on high. My only complaints is it seems a tad wobbly to me but I haven't owned any other tall tower fans before. Its base diameter is about a foot which is attached (by the buyer) with 4 phillips screws - not hard at all... The oscillate speed seems too fast for me anyways. I'm used to the old normal blade oscillating desk fan speed where at any given point has about 4-5 seconds of airflow, this seems like 2-3 seconds like someone just quickly blew air on you. BUT if you use the fan like me and leave it in one position it isn't a big deal at all. The little desk fan that comes with it puts out a surprising amount of airflow! Has the old style of manual clicking selector buttons - 2 speeds and does oscillate also. It works for what it is. So I am still very happy with my selection and i suggest giving it a try! It should be noted i bought mine about 4 days ago (May 1, 2012) and i paid $67 from amazon...I noticed it was $83 today. At $67 its a very good deal but at $83 I'm not entirely sure its the best for that price range.

These fans are great. They are great working condition. I love them both. The air moves so easily in the rooms were they sit. Thanks so much for a great item.

We bought this for a dorm room. I was familiar with the quality of the brand and bought it primarily based on that factor. It worked fine for the first month or so, it was quiet and was a great help with air flow. Then it started making a loud internal grinding noise whenever it was turned on. It didn't matter whether it was on rotation mode or still. Very frustrating. Also, shortly after purchasing the fan it re-appeared at Costco for $45.

OUTDATED VERSION OF THIS FAN! This fan works fine. Mine is out of warranty and I have had problems with the remote. They really do not work well and it is very difficult to replace the battery. Note that the REPLACEMENT REMOTES ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER!! I just hung up the phone with them. Be advised if you buy this fan.

Had 3 of these from Costco. All started out quiet and wonderful, 2 got really noisy after a year or so. 3rd we do not use the oscillation feature (which is probably why it still runs quiet.) Took the noisy ones apart and ran with out the covers it they ran quiet, but got loud with covers on. Then after a while one of the noisy 2 just stopped working.

Bought this combo at costco thinking it would be quality at a lower price than a single tower fan at wally or amazon. Boy was I wrong. Do not buy this tower fan combo. The beeps to change speeds and use other functions are annoying loud as hell. You can hear the loud beeps across the house practically. The fan itself does move a decent amount of air on high but at the cost of a lot of noise. I also found that speed 1 is too low and there isnt much different between speed 2 and 3. The base is not very stable and you have to put it together yourself (no big deal except its easy to not get it right the first time and mash the power cord) and that could be a fire hazard IMO. The air vents collects dust like crazy and you cant really take it apart to clean it. The little combo fan that comes with the larger tower fan is even worse than the big one. It makes just as much noise blowing air but it also makes some other loud creaking noises so you have to adjust it just right so its not making a bunch of extra noise, then just when you get it right and it seems like its doing ok, some time later it will just start making noise again which will wake you up and or make you have to get up from your comfortable seat or in bed and re adjust it. Ive only had it a few weeks but will be returning it based on my experience and also the reviews here on amazon that say it also doesnt last very long. I probably will not buy another bionaire product ever again based on my experience with this bionaire fan. If I could give it no stars I would would, its that crappy.

I don't know why this fan gets negative reviews. My wife has hot flashes and owns an army of fans, but this one is the mainstay in our bedroom along with our ceiling fan. The thing is remarkably quiet on any setting. We had one previously and it lasted for years. Great product and I highly recommend it. PS: I use the smaller fan in my office.
