Nice looking wood .... everything else poor quality
Thought i'd take a punt on the basis of reviews I have read here and on other versions of Amazon.(note to self ..... Take Notice Of The Bad Reviews Before You Part With Money!!!)THE PROS:Looks quite nice, wood grain is effective ... its small and portable.THE CONS: (after getting past the initial reaction of "the wood looks quite nice")Only three screws holding on the rear plate, which looks as though it has a stress fracture from being bent to fit the slightly curved back .... the forth screw goes into nothing as the recess the back plate sits in is off centre. The neck has small dent marks in the side and instead of just a quick sand down .... it has just been laquered over. The on board tuner wobbles between most of the notes even on a clean pluck on the lower two strings. When tuning it with my Zoom foot pedal the strings needed lifting out of the nut to retension either side of the nut or it just pops out of tune again (nut slots too tight)after five minutes of tuning the machine heads themselves started to come loose as there's only one little screw holding them to the headstock....The strings themselves are really poor quality and are very sticky ... so much so that you get a note sounding as you lift your finger away (this "can" be solved with talc, chalk, olive oil etc but after the tuning issues i'm done with it)Also the D string is starting to look thin near the nut ... possibly a weak point. (you do get a second set of strings but you shouldn't have to change them as soon as you get it delivered.the more you look at the uke the more little imperfections you see ...I wasn't expecting a KALA for this kind of money but would have liked it to be serviceable at least.I managed to "play" it a little and i suppose the sound wasn't too bad acoustically (taking into account the lack of tune and the double notes from the sticky strings)I thought about putting steel strings on it but that would take away the whole idea of the synthetic string being a little easier on the fingers and having an upright bass sound ... plus looking at the overall quality i don't think the neck would take the strain to be honest.Hence it's going straight back and i'll have to faff with the returns rigmarole

Ready to jam - Quality ukulele
The media could not be loaded. The Ukulele looks amazing. Bought it for my daughter who is a beginner. This ukulele is has the feel and functions of a high end instrument. You could say its almost the size of a small guitar. I have tried my new photography equipment to shoot the review video, hope it worked out :)Packaging : It came in a very good packaging, came without damage. I have seen people complaining about scratches and other damages to the instrument while shipping. But I was really pleased that no such thing happened with mine. The carry bag it came with is really safe, with around 3 cm thick sponges.Body : The built quality is perfect. There is a inbuilt tuner which runs on batteries - 2 round lithium type as in the motherboards are 2032. The sound of course is very low as acoustics, the strings are made of rubber, you need to get used to it, strongly stretch and the fingers do not slip that much compared to metal. I think rubber strings are safe for kids and beginners, wouldn't make your fingers hurt. There was a tuner, spare set of strings and belt in the bag.Nice product, I recommend.
