An official, original novel from the twisted world of the hit horror video game, Bendy and the Ink Machine ! Seventeen-year-old Buddy has spent most of his life trying to escape the Lower East Side slums of New York City. Working as a delivery boy to support his family, Buddy wants to become an artist, a dream he's sure will never be realized. But that all changes when a delivery job puts him face-to-face with Mister Joey Drew, the eccentric owner of an animation studio.Mister Drew takes Buddy under his wing as an apprentice, thrusting him into a world unlike anything Buddy has ever seen before. There's the colorful cast of the studio, from the cranky, yet driven composer Sammy Lawrence to Dot, the writing intern and Buddy's counterpart. Working for Mister Drew, Buddy starts to think that maybe it's really as simple as Mister Drew says: Dreams do come true. But not everything at the studio is as picture-perfect as it seems . . .Something is going bump in the night at Joey Drew Studios, something that leaves behind trails of thick, dark ink. While the studio frantically works toward their latest deadline, Buddy and Dot team up to find out just what is tormenting the studio after-hours, even if it means tracking the trail to Mister Drew himself.Don't miss this official, original, pulse-pounding story from award-winning author Adrienne Kress, developed with theMeatly, Mike Mood, and Bookpast! Review: Answered Questions, Yet The Mystery Still Continues... - When I heard this book was coming out, I made sure to read another book by this author to understand what her writing style and storytelling was like (it was called "Outcast" which was a well done and interesting story, though focusing on the high school aspects more than the actual interesting concept of the story was a bit tiring to get through at times). So when I finally picked up this book I was excited by the prospect of looking into what the version of Joey Drew Studios was like in it's heyday before crap hit the fan. It starts off with Daniel Lewek or Buddy as his friends call him and as he retells his story of how he got hired and worked for Joey Drew. He has the dream of becoming an artist and when Mr. Drew notices him the day he drops off a suit to his office, he's hired on the spot. Buddy at first is excited about the prospect, but being hired as a gofer/artist in training seems to have many downs before it gets better. We are introduced to various characters from the game before they became what they are and the contrast is very interesting as well as shocking with some characters not being quite what we would expect (pointing out Norman as well as even Tom for that matter). We also learn about some new characters such as Buddy's family who we get to learn the history of during the story (the growing bond between Buddy and his grandfather is so wonderful) as well as the ever sharp Dot who helps Buddy along the way, getting him acquainted with work but also in the growing mystery of the studio. But wow, I was really amazed with how much you get to learn about Joey Drew himself, and dang he's more dastardly then you think! (one scene which I will not spoil made me boil in anger at the audacity and selfishness! Grrrr on your Mr. Drew!) The only critique I have on this book is that it seemed some typos did escape into the printing of it, but for the most part did not bother me while I was reading. Another thing which I think was the publishing's mistake was there was one page that had some of the words faded out (ironically it was the "stained" in the combination of "ink-stained" which somehow fit the concept of the story). Overall, an amazing read! A definite must for anyone whose a fan of the game who wants to learn more about the background of the studio as well as the other characters through the eyes of a teen anyone can connect to and even grow to deeply care about (even though the horrifying realizations made throughout and even at the end will leave you possibly going, dear god what happens now?) I think people who haven't played the game would also love this book. I think it's one of those reads that keeps you guessing what happens next and keeps you reading as fast as you can until the very last page. I'm even more excited to learn that this is only book one! Whaaat?! More to come?! Heck yeah!!! Review: Really good book - Really enjoyable to read

was a lil devil thing Who was brought to life on the silver screen Used to make em chuckle now he makes em scream It's Bendy in the Devil's Swing Flash back to the place that made the cartoons sing Where the cobwebs grow and the floorboards creak And it's all connected to an evil scheme It's Bendy and the Ink Machine Dreams do come true I was deceived by Joey Drew, and now I'm coming after you Who's laughing now? You thought that you could cut me out But now the ink is pouring down great book

More history about the fall of the studio!
When I first saw a preview of the book I didn't know what to expect. Only this book goes into days before the studio fell and who were the first to go. This book gives a more detailed interaction between the characters and is a perfect companion novel for those who have bought the Employee Hand Book. It provides information about who worked at the studio besides the characters we were introduced. This book provides more depth of characters like Joey Drew and Sammy Lawrence as well as Thomas Connor and quite possibly Borris the wolf. I would recommend this book to audiences who enjoy Bendy and the Ink Machine and the unique plot line of background information. Previously stated inside of the studio handbook. Five stars deserved for giving us important information about the studio and the brilliant writing.

Pretty good
Well, I went into this expecting it to not be very good, but it definitely subverted my expectations. There are still flaws with it, but those have to do with continuity errors of characters in the franchise, none of which are the author's fault. Under the lens of a horror novel? Pretty good, but more sad than scary (not that that's a bad thing!). Under the lens of historical accuracy? Pretty good, though it could've been done in better ways than making well-liked characters misogynistic (which, again, I don't really blame on the author). Overall, I did really like this book. Really good writing style and likable main characters. Would read again. :)

This was interesting. We were glad to find the graphic novel this one was a little more advanced. Still a great find.

Amazing book
Great book with suspense, mystery and great use of the fear of the unknown. The pacing is amazing, the characters are well written, and the way the plot advances slowly as more and more dark secrets get unveiled leading up to the final reveal really keeps you turning the pages. Props to everyone who was involved in this book's writing!

Good service and timely delivery, as well as competitive cost.
My order met my expectations regarding delivery and the product itself. I purchased this item as a gift for my 12 year old grandson and, as Bendy is a favourite character of his, it proved to be very appealing, along with other Bendy merchandise. Thank you, Amazon.
