AWESOME 2 years in horrible weathor
I needed an inexpensive but cranking sound sytem for my yard .. I have waterfront front property.. OK.. Plus,s,.. 1.). they have built in speaker mounts. that is a huge saving in itself. I then bought black pipe and mounted them to my railing they look great ...2) They been threw several extreme Rain downpours, with no problems 3) The Bass is sufficiient I see no reason to purchase a sub.. 4) they handle the watts -I havent blown them yet. I have been known to blow many speakers. I like my music CRANKING!! If I only get 1 season out of theese speakers It would be worth it, But theres no dought in my mind theese speakers will be around for a while. Cons.. The neighbors from 300 feet away are complaining the music is to loud !! I LEFT THESE SPEAKERS OUT ALL WINTER NY WATERFRONT - I CANT BELIEVE THERE STILL ROCKING !!!

Worked excellent for my application!
I purchased 2 of these speakers for my off-road vehicle. I attached them to my roll cage that is exposed to the elements. Although they are not "top of the line" speakers, when connected to an amp they really do put out a nice quality sound. The thing about these that I am most impressed with are the housings. They are constructed of a tough polymer plastic that looks as if it can take some real abuse. The clamp can be attached to different sized tubing. The minimum size is 1.75" OD. The reason I know this is that is the size of the tubing of my roll cage. It looks as if the maximum size it will fit is 2.25" OD. The clamp is metal (looks like cast aluminum) and comes with rubber sheets that can be placed inside the clamp for vibration dampening purposes. I am very impressed with this speaker and have already recommended it to several friends looking for something for the same application as what I used it for.

Great sound!
We have these installed in a salt water environment since may 11. We have a seaswirl 2101wa with custom fishing tower. Each speaker is rated at 550 watts peak and 275 watts rms. Paired with a pyle 2000 watt 6 channel amp (bridged to 3 channels) and sub installed in our cuddy. Tweaked the settings on the amp - hi pass for the boss speakers and low pass for sub. also have 2 infinity boat speakers on the sony head - not amped. The whole system sounds amazing!!! We stern into our local beach sandbar and seriously rock the beach. Haven't heard 2 many other boats sound so clear so loud. We hear other loud boats but loud and clear is unusual. We of course use some serious battery power. Before we added the sub we had a Pyle 4 channel amp bridged to 2 channels, set amp on full pass. The 4 way sound on the speakers was really good but the overall sound really improves with the sub. Couple of negatives that made them 4 star. The speaker wire connectors are externally exposed 2 the elements. The clamp is made out of some kind of cheap plastic that look horrible from the elements. Very bulky, barely fit in our application. And finally the speaker front came loose the last time we were out and disconnected. Instead of a separate front grill, the front grill has the tweeters in it with really small wiring connecting it. Amazingly enough the sound coming off our boat even with 1 wakeboard speaker inop still sounded good. My husband is going to try 2 rewire the tweeters and seal front on and check the other one out. Even if we have 2 replace very happy overall and will buy again. Edit: june 2013 went ahead and replaced 1 speaker that came apart. My husband is planning 2 take it to his shop snd repair wires and use as spare speaker.

I fully expected to replace the 6x9's with a pair of higher quality from JL or Focal and thought the price was still worth it ju
I did not have very high expectations for these BOSS speakers. I fully expected to replace the 6x9's with a pair of higher quality from JL or Focal and thought the price was still worth it just to have the nice enclosures with sturdy metal mounts. I installed two of the MRWT69 speakers on a Polaris Ranger Crew to replace a pair of 6.5" MTX Waketower speakers and was immediately blow away by the clarity and crispness of these speakers. The mids are clean and responsive and the highs are well balanced, not to dull and not too bright. I am feeding a pair of these speakers with a JL M200/2 marine amplifier that was already installed in my Ranger. I expected this little amp to be grossly under powered for these BOSS speakers, but after a few riding trips with the new setup I am very pleased with the volume it will produce. Sitting in the back seat at full volume is unbearable and just reaching the point of hurting your ears in the front seat. PERFECT!! On a side note, the MRWT69 speakers are much clearer, produce a cleaner sound at full volume and handle lower frequencies much better than the 6.5" MTX Waketower speakers these replaced.

Should have covers included!!!
These speakers are great, BUT, they should come with some form of cover. They will not last long exposed to the elements they way I used them on my boat. The seller should get at me.

Best Option For The Money
Love these speakers. They sound great and are doing fine in salt water spray. You'll need a big amp to properly power them but they sound great and are good quality. With two speakers mounted on wakeboard tower, we can comfortably hear music 65' behind boat when riding wakeboard. It's confusing that they say system, as there is only one speaker per purchase, but still a great value. I'm sure the name brand wake speakers are great, but for the money, you really cant beat these things! And the newest model with the big silver attachment clamp fits a 2.5" Monster tower with no problem. Edit: 1.5 years after purchase with no issues whatsoever, still sound great.

The 4 ways produce great bass and many highs that I had never heard ...
I received these speakers for my placement on my new waketower. Upon receipt I originally hooked up a couple of to the amp and fired my Ipod wasn't impressed and then found out the amp was defective. Installed these on my tower and hooked into my new amp with connection to my head unit and was blown away!! These speakers will ROCK!! I only purchased them due to their low cost and had plans to replace them but have now kinda placed that thought on the back burner!! The 4 ways produce great bass and many highs that I had never heard in my old 2 way speakers. Great product for the $ and would highly recommend them for their cost!!!

If you got the amp to drive them, no problem hearing on a boat 75 feet back on a wakeboard
Are these the best speakers I have heard behind a boat - No, but I have not heard better at this price point. Virtually no distortion at low to mid volume levels, and just a little distortion when you crank it to hear way behind the boat but what little there is does not take away from the experience. I have had these for 3 seasons on a boat stored outdoors on a covered lift year round in Arkansas and they sound just as good as when I first mounted them.
