Caleca Pink Garland 4-Piece Dinner Plate Set, Service for 4

I purchased Caleca Pink Garland dishes many years ago and have never grown tired of them. I use them every day and they are still in excellent shape. Over the years, a few plates have chipped and I was looking to replace them and add some additional pieces to my set. I discovered that they were discontinued in 2004 and set about searching the internet to see if I could find any still available. I did find an extensive collection of the discontinued Caleca Pink Garland at another website, but many of the pieces were one of a kind and expensive. So I was excited to find a smaller selection on amazon, reasonably priced, with free shipping for prime members. I ordered this set of four dinner plates as well as a set of four fruit bowls. They arrived in sturdy boxes with the caleca name and all were in excellent condition. I was disappointed, however, when I discovered that they do not match the rest of my Calecas -- specifically, the green paint is not the same shade as the green on the original Calecas (thankfully, the pink and blue colors DO match). The pieces are thinner/lighter than the originals, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since these plates are heavy. The Caleca logo on the backs of the pieces I ordered through amazon differs from the Caleca logo on the originals, so I am guessing that the Caleca Pink Garland are being produced again, perhaps by another company that has purchased the Caleca name. The bowls and plates are nice and well made, but the new green color makes them look duller than the originals. I will keep them (I especially like having the small fruit bowls), but I will not purchase any more Caleca items from amazon (too bad, because I was excited to find several pieces I would like to have). I just ordered and received several pieces from the other website and the color and logo on these pieces perfectly match the Calecas I've owned and enjoyed for many years. So buyer beware...if you are looking to supplement your dishes, you may be disappointed since they will not match what you already own. If you are new to Caleca Pink Garland, I think you will be happy with your purchase -- because even with the duller green, these are still beautiful.

Great plates. We bought our original set in the UK in 1980s! This set of plates look so similar you can't tell that they are not the same. Would recommend them to everyone.
