My horse has head-shaking syndrome aggravated by light. he needs to wear this mask every day, even in the rain. anyone tried nikwax on it?

I have a head shaking mare that wears this mask 24/7 and it has been amazing to stop her head shaking. She has no problem wearing it all the time but i have not tried that product on it.
