This review is about the Scotch Thermal Laminator Combo Pack, Includes 20 Laminating Sheets, 9 Inches x 11.4 Inches (TL901SC) . The pros: A) Excellent quality of lamination for the price. I mean, it's Scotch. Not only that, but the laminator works great while being very simplistic operation-wise. Just turn it on, wait till it heats up, put an item in a pouch, run it through the laminator, check if you have to put it in the laminator again if it's hazy, done. It's very easy to understand and use. B) Very easy set up. No assembly needed. C) VERY fair price! 30 dollars for a laminator of this quality, you won't find anywhere else! (Well, maybe. But not Scotch!) D) Packaging offers simple storage and portability, with a handle on the box and spacious interior. The cons: A) Heating up takes a bit too long, but it's to be expected for a thermal laminator. Save the best for last, I say! B) Can you use other thermal laminating pouches with this laminator? The box never tells you this, but I suppose that it's for revenue and capitalism's sake. Overall: 5/5. A splendid laminator you're hard pressed to find anywhere else. If you need a cost-effective but efficient, industrial-like quality and functionality, go with this one. You won't regret it. Happy customer! PS: Item arrived in excellent condition!

This works perfectly, and it comes at a great price!! I bought this for school projects and such, and it's come in really handy. It heats up pretty quick. You don't need one of those thick carboard jackets to hold the laminating paper. It is really easy to use, compact, and inexpensive. If you are looking for this to help you with school projects, then it's perfect for you. Also, if you want it for crafting purposes, it's also very handy. I haven't had any issues with this, like air bubbles in the laminated sheets. Everything has gone smoothly for me. This is a great laminator!!

I've been using this for about a week and I had a stack of things waiting to be laminated when it arrived. I've really enjoyed this lamintor, it isn't too big so it stores out the way nicely - but it works! I have ZERO issues with bubbles, I've not had to put anything through twice, and I've even had smaller things (like business cards) go in at a severe angle and it worked fine! The included laminating pouches were a nice bonus. I purchased off-brand pouches of various sizes and they work well going through this as well. I highly recommend this for home use! It does take quite some time to heat up, but it stay consistently hot and the I put through over 20 items in one sitting and the last item came out just as nice as the first. Also, I noticed a slight odor the first time I used it - I think it may have been dust in the heating element, but it went away quickly. The outer unit does NOT get super hot during use, and I had it on for quite some time working on my projects. I was able to pick it up and put it away immediately after turning it off. Very nice! I highly recommend this product!

This is great for making signs. I needed a group of warning signs that I created in MS Publisher and I wanted them to last. In concert with the Scotch Thermal Pouches 8.9 x 11.4 Inches, 100-Pack (TP3854-100) and 8 1/2 x 11 card stock, this does the job adequately and you don't need a protector pouch. I have made over 60 signs, with no errors and no problems with the laminator. It takes a while to warm up, and the lamination process is slow, but the results are worth it. Also, the price is right. Amazon has the laminator and pouches for about half of what the office stores charge. If you're not doing lamination for a living, this is the way to go.

The first one that I received when it came put of the box I plugged it in and it warmed up for all of 5 mins then just shut off never to turn back on again, I received a lemon. Not wanting to give up that easy I returned it to Amazon and requested a new on which they sent me in 2 days after intial contact (before the other had even go out) AMAZING! I LOVE AMAZON! The next machine worked like a dream right out of the package and have done several jobs with it since. I went to Stables to have a few pages laminated before I ordered my machine and they chared me $2.00 per page ouch! So with the 25 laminate pages that came with the machine which I payed about $30 for, no shipping as I'm a Prime member. I'm already $20 ahead and this machine is working like a charm. Worth all the trouble and money!

This is a great laminator. It's very easy to use and it does a fine job. It includes easy and simple directions. There's almost nothing to it, to operate it - just give it a minute to warm up, put your item in your laminating pouch, and put it in the machine like you put a piece of paper in a printer. It grabs it and sends it out finished. Done! It's my first laminator and I didn't know how touchy or difficult it would be to have a smooth laminated item. It was a snap, and I'm very pleased with it. I would buy this item again myself so if you're considering this one, go for it.

This is an easy to use, lightweight laminator. Fits up to 9" wide laminating pockets, so you can laminate a full piece of paper with no problem. Comes with a package of 20 full page pockets already. Warms up within 5-8 minutes, as it says in the instructions, seals crisply on the item nice and tight. This really is a nice, simple product. The only downside for me is the short power cord. It's not that long, so you may need some sort of extension, depending on where you place it. Been very happy with this product. PRODUCT SAFETY: The machine does heat up (it's a machine based on creating lots of heat), so be aware. However, it handles the heat pretty well. It isn't going to burn you if you touch it, but if you leave you hand on it for longer than a second or two, it will be uncomfortable. You will need to allow time to cool if you plan on storing it out of the way or in its box, etc. You can test it by hand, however. Does a nice job of cooling down on it's own. Just give it the time it needs.

I ordered this exact laminator in the past. The first one I damaged by accident. The second, I just used & probably abused it like it was a commercial laminator. It did it's job well for about two years. So when I needed another one, I didn't think twice about getting a third. This one literally ate every piece that went through this machine. I returned it immediately. Crinkled snowflakes is all I ended up with. As the pouches were exiting out this laminator they were melted. Actual holes in them. I have never had any problems with this laminator or this brand so buyer please beware. This model is # TL 901, I ended up purchasing the scotch brand model # TL 902. No problems with it so far and much much quieter.

This requires 110v supply. Therefore not suitable for use in UK. No mention in description that it was not made for 230/240v supply or that it shipped from America.
