Kodak 120 Professional Porta Color 160 Film, is a top quality product. It serves well for any subject matter in its ability to capture the most subtle variation in both color and value. The hues are rich without looking too saturated (which can of course be desirable with different films under other circumstances) capturing a lovely, fine grain, naturalistic quality. When shooting portraits or any shallow space subject matter, Porta Color handles reflected light and color beautifully. The ISO of 160 works well under a variety of light situations. The combination of 120 format and the use of a tripod can deliver some spectacular results. Reasonably priced, too.

We really are. This is the time to shoot film. Not because it’s cheap, or easy, but because you cannot replicate the tactile feel of negatives with 1s and 0’s. Why do I say we are in the golden age of photography? Because you can shoot film in a great camera like a rolleiflex or Hassleblad and still fix the level, or do some other corrections that would take hours in the darkroom.

Excellent exposure latitude, a good choice for scenes with high contrast, like harsh sunlight or long exposure night photography. Fine grain that is just barely there - although the grain of Portra 400 is not much more. I actually find this film's properties more useful in 35mm, but 120 is nice too. Cons: as with any color negative film, you may need to spend some time adjusting color channels in your images to remove casts. This film strongly tends towards blue in shadows/underexposure. And if you think you might not develop it for a long time, I found Portra to be the least resilient film to aging during a 10 year hiatus from photography where my exposures sat undeveloped in a box. It got a bunch of tiny black specks from aging. Fuji Pro 400H was the most resilient of the color negatives, with no discernible degradation. Ektar 100 also did well.

This is the best color negative film the resolution is just amazing, its not iso 160 but rather 100. really nice skin tones, if you want to shoot people then this is only choice with the other portras. I truly hope that Kodak will continue to produce color negative films and that they wont keep upping the prices!! they are forcing analog pro photographers to become crappy digital shooters that chimp like nuts when trying to get a shot right. With film the real photography, not based on composite images in PS or chimping on camera or spraying 1000 shots and pray to get something right is starting to disappear. Watch out with flash as negative color C-41 and Portra, specially the new portra has bluish cyan cold tones with flash. you might need to adjust with gels the temp of your lights.

Portra 160/120, shot on 645, properly exposed and scanned 2400dpi with an Epson V600, can yield files with no visible grain. Now that Fuji's dropped all their 120 color negative films except 400H your choice for a lower speed film is either this or Ektar. Ektrar is nice too, and has even finer grain, but most of my work is time exposures at night and Portra is more forgiving - and it's easy enough to add saturation or contrast in post.

Great film. Order it from your local film store and not Amazon, but if you’re looking for film this is a great one to buy elsewhere

Amazing product for a good price

I use this film for landscapes and portraits with medium format. the film is beautiful, fine grain, and wonderful tones and texture. (This roll film, I develop my self).

Mit dem Portra 160 hat Kodak wirklich einen klasse Film rausgebracht! Ich nutze die Filme bereits seit ca 1 Jahr, um mit meiner Kiew TTL zu fotografieren und bin bei meiner nun vierten Packung Filmen angelangt und wirklich begeistert. Auch wenn die Farben variieren können, anbei zwei unretuschierte Beispiele, muss ich doch sagen, dass ich mit den Ergebnissen durchweg zufrieden bin! Meiner Meinung nach sind die idealen Lichtverhältnisse bei direktem, bzw. teilweise vorhandenen Sonnenlicht bis zu kurz vor Sonnenuntergang, da es ansonsten zu dunkel wird. Die Hautfarbe wird, wie angegeben, sehr natürlich und nicht orange. Da ich nur Abzüge der Architekturaufnahmen gemacht habe, kann ich diesbezüglich leider kein Beispiel anhängen. Am besten testen Sie es selbst aus!
