It has very good suction and power. It's easy to use & easy to empty the dust bucket. I also like the size: big enough to do a good job & small enough to be easy to carry around. The charge lasts quite a long time and it charges pretty quickly. It's new, but it seems to be rugged, strong & sturdy. **Q: Is the charging dock a wall hanging "snap in" type?**
A: My wife didn't want it taking up shelf space, so she hung it from a wall hook ( where our old vac used to hang) and just set the charging disk on the bottom now the top.

**Q: How many years of use have you gotten before it doesn't stay charged?**
A: I've used this hand vac for 7 years! We have collies and I vacuum pet hair from hardwood floors daily. Easy to see when cup needs to be emptied. I've used replacement filters that come in a 6 pack. I brush dust off after every use, discard when obviously need it, never wash them. I've replaced plastic filter cup only twice in 7 years due to clogged holes.  I keep filters clear, motor and suction are still good. Battery is still giving 20 minutes of use time. I store it set on the charge plate. It's always ready when I need it. Light flashes while charging. I will use this gem until it dies. I love it! When it needs replacement I will opt for the 20 volt that is just like it but I assume slightly more suction.

**Q: How does this comapre to the Black & Decker CHV1510? Which one shoudl I get?**
A: The chv1410L is Far superior, we have a chv1510 and it has a nicad battery which works ok for a while but you can neither charge it too much ( ruins battery ) or too little ( loses power quickly ) the 1410 L has a far superior lithium ion battery which will hold a charge far longer and can't be harmed by leaving it in the charger although it runs for a long time and doesn't need to be left on the charger much, charges quickly too, nicad batteries are junk, otherwise they seem about equal in design and power, both very nice hand vacuums.

**Q: is it good at picking up pet hair?**
A: This vacuum is great on hard surfaces for pet hair.  If the pet hair is typically hard to vacuum up because it is on cloth or carpet, not so great.  It works very good to pick up loose crumbs on carpet, though.  I have two cats that shed and I wholeheartedly recommend, instead, the Eureka EasyClean 71B corded handheld vacuum  for pet hair on furniture.  It is the only vacuum that will pick up cat hair on my velour couches because of the strong suction and rotating brushes.  It is extremely important to clean the filter to keep the suction strong on both of these handheld vacuums.  The filter on this Black and Decker CHV1410L is underneath the green filter cover that twists off.  The easiest and most effective way to clean the filters for me is to use a shop vac on them.  Of course, any vacuum with a hose attachment would work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powerful little "sucker!"

Bought this to replace an older 16V model, which itself replaced the same model from a previous purchase. We love these little gizmos. Incredibly handy and versatile. It's easy to carry around, well balanced. My only complaint would be that it's a bit noisy, but I suspect that if it was quieter its performance wouldn't be nearly as good as it is. Our primary use is to tidy up around the kitty litter box. No matter what, their little paws always bring a little of the litter out onto the tile floor. This sucks it up with no difficulty at all. But we also use it all around the house for touch ups, for example in the kitchen around the edges of the floor and under the cabinets. Keeps things nice and tidy. Has plenty of battery life. We can do multiple jobs over multiple days (average time of use is perhaps about a minute total; moving from one area to another usually turn it off briefly until ready to clean). The charging unit makes it incredibly easy - just sit it down on the unit and a blue light shows it's charging. The light goes off when done. This 20V unit definitely does have more suction than our prior B&D 16V (they look alike, this one's gray/black, that one was a light blue). VERY easy to empty and clean. The fabric filter unit (though they sell replacements if you don't want to bother, but it's honestly so easy to do and, get this, I've never had to buy a replacement filter - they're incredibly durable - the unit's BATTERY (see below) has "died" before the filter fabric/material has worn out!) is easy to clean. Gently brush off the majority of the debris into a trash can, then a little dish soap and hot water cleans it up and we air dry it. There's a plastic "first stage filter" that washes quickly, and the body (dirt container) cleans quickly w/soap and water. A few hours drying and back in business again. The nozzle fits in plenty of tight spaces. This is our 3rd unit (each one seems to last about 2 years, which I don't think is terrible at this price point), so we're quite pleased with the product line for sure. It's the battery that seems to "go" on them. Though I'm not honestly sure how much of this may be "user defined" than the battery itself. I try to let the battery drain down before charging, my wife always puts it right back onto the charger. Theoretically being a lithium ion battery it shouldn't have a "memory," but I think that it should be used until nearly "out" then recharged. Regardless, with our pattern of use as noted we've had 3 of them (this being the 3rd, and it's only about 2 months old now as I write this), the prior two (again, 16V, different model) having each lasted about 2 years. BTW, the plastic filter cup and the dust container are exactly the same, even on this new model; I've simply saved those parts from the old machines in case I might need to replace, but have never had to! I paid full price for this item and I'm an average end-user customer. This is my honest and unbiased by any remuneration review.
