Excellently designed bag, perfect for my needs!
I've owned only one STM Backpack in the past because it lasted me nearly 10 years. I thought I was due for an upgrade and I decided to go slim, very slim, and boy was I not disappointed. This is a fantastic bag. It's very slim, quite light, and fits all the electronics you would need quite elegantly. The main laptop compartment is lined with felt and does not touch the bottom of the bag (that's right, there's about an inch between the ground and where your laptop rests to prevent accidental bumping) so I feel comfortable putting my laptop in without a case. There's a slim tablet pocket right next to it that's perfect for my iPad Mini. Then there are two small pockets attached to that. I usually keep one for cables and the other for passports (perfect side for 2 of them). The details are just done so right on this bag. I like the water bottle pockets that are surprisingly stretchy to accommodating larger bottles than you'd expect on such a small bag. The front pocket is lined with felt which makes it perfect for carrying a pair of sunglasses. The chest strap helps distribute the weight of the laptop so you hardly feel it. The built in luggage strap on the back side that you won't see or feel but is perfect for attaching this bag to a handle. Really, this bag is basically perfect. Great design and it fits a surprising amount of stuff. So don't worry about it's "diminutive" size, it really is the perfect backpack for the modern technophile.

Fantastic minimalist gadget carry bag
Really well built and top quality fabric and zippers. Padded pockets for phones, drives and gadgets are reliable. Shape is really great - small, compact and not for those with bulky lunches or containers. Find the side pockets rather tight, and the zipper pulls sort of get in the way of anything you want to put in the pockets when the zippers are down by the side. Otherwise love this bag and STM quality. Would highly recommend for a minimalist, gadget centred carry all.

Good looking hobbitpack.
Not so many backpacks available in slim design with good internal organization, sturdy materials and nice external design. for the first look this pack has it all. after a several days of use i started to hate it :-( yes design and portability of this pack is excellent. and materials are also great. but there are several design drawback that turning me mad. 1. straps. they are not nearly as comfortable as on my victorinox, mammut and hedgren backpaks. straps are tough and rough, keeping their form as made for robots not peoples. sternum strap doing some help here but not so much. yes there is padding here but problem is not in padding but in rough edges. 2. straps length. considering in mind straps length i think this pack made for hobbits or very petite humans. no, i'm not huge man - only 44 inch chest. and yes i can wear this pack. BUT! sunglasses mount on one strap and reflective line on another moves somewhere to my back. horrible. 3. internals of this pack is almost perfect. pockets on the top - very usable when trying to find something small. not like in typical huge packs where all small items goes down. BUT ! who made keystrap right on the top and near on of the zippers?! one of the stupidest and annoying things in this pack! if you can live with this - go, buy this thing. if you are a perfectionist in search for perfect backpack. try to search again. sorry for my english :-)

The side pockets for my water bottle were also super tight. That's good for keeping the bottle from ...
I bought this as a carryon for my frequent flights. I wanted something sleek and compact, and this is that. Seems well made, too. But it's too compact. With just a Macbook Air 13.3", a slim book of crosswords, a New Yorker, chargers for phone and computer, sunglasses, this thing was bursting. I packed a sandwich, and of course it got smushed. The side pockets for my water bottle were also super tight. That's good for keeping the bottle from falling out, but you constantly feel like you've overloaded the bag. If you are a true minimalist, and want just the smallest bag possible, this will do it. But if you want a sweater and a sandwich in there, you really need a bigger bag.

Top of the line products every time!
I had an STM messenger style bag prior to purchasing this backpack. And this item, like the messenger bag, didn't disappoint. This is a high quality, long lasting, functional yet compact backpack. I carry a laptop, tablet, USB cables, headphones, lots of pens, Bluetooth keyboard, books, folders, a planner, and more. It holds A LOT more than I expected. A 1" binder doesn't fit easily. I made it fit once but the pointy corners seemed to really put a strain on the zipper, so I opted not to use it for binders. It's comfortable, secure, and evenly distributes the weight. I wore this fully loaded at an all-day event at my local University for a school event and never grew tired of wearing it. The color is a perfect shade of red. It has a very slight bluishness to it that seems less evident in the stock photo. The outside pockets hold a small (slim) SmartWater bottle comfortably. It'll stretch enoough to hold other types of bottles too. But it's a pretty narrow pocket. I usually use the outside pockets to carry pens and small accessories for my devices. I just can't say enough about the solid, rugged, durable construction. I don't think I'd ever use a different brand. ***Highly reccomend***

LIGHT and Sturdy.
Like anything - an item is only as good as what you need it for. Well, I was looking for something LIGHT but that ergonomically fit (feels right whether I have both straps on or just one) and this bag certainly was that. It fits a small laptop snugly and it is well padded. it works well as a commuter bag in a city - going from house to mass transit to the office. I'm able to pack my lunch in it along with a few other small items. It's fine as the 'extra' personal bag when going on a plane but it doesn't have the capacity to store a whole lot more of other things. Again, my emphasis was on LIGHT but sturdy. Other reviewers helped me piece the puzzle together on what this bag was all about; hope this helps.

If you want to travel light and need to take your small laptop (up to 13.3'' - in my case a MacBook Pro, but tried my Asus ultrabook and fits well) then you'd want this backpack. I have other computer backpacks (well bigger) but this is probably the best for every day use and/or when you don't really need a bulky backpack. Fits my laptop, my chargers (phone and laptop), my tablet, a few pens, an A5 notebook, keys, business cards, etc. Is just perfect and really small - as big as it needs to be and not more. If you have a larger laptop, I believe there's another model available from the same brand.

This backpack has dimensions ideal for my kid's 10" Samsung Notes tablet. Small and handy but robust and discrete, it protects very well the tablet and the small Bluetooth keyboard we bought recently, along with a BT mouse. We were looking for some time for a backpack with similar characteristics and this one is really how we imagined the ideal backpack to transport and protect my daughter's tablet.
