60W Soldering Iron Kit 5-in-1 110V

Well what can I say! I just got it about 4 hrs ago and used it for my defogger leds that I needed to put back since I replaced my back glass and well the solder worked perfect! Just to say I don’t know how to solder lol. I needed to figure it out how to use the resin and the solder together. But it did the job!! It does get hot and you can see the red inside the tube but I just unplugged it and used it then replug it again to go the other side. It’s cheap and worked for what I wanted to use it. Just be careful it does get red hot. Mine did smoke for a bit but then it stopped smoking. Worked like a charm.

Would be 5 stars but flux paste was petrified from heat & or age and not usable. Otherwise perfect for what I need.

Simple use for less than hard tasks. Got it to change the pickup on a bass guitar. Did its job. Just be ready to hold it over some spots a little longer than others since it's not a large iron with lots of power. Plus it comes with rosin and solder, can't beat the price for all that.

So I don't know the technical names for the parts of this, but the long metal part that you melt onto whatever you need to solder together, well that doesn't drip. Not sure if it's supposed to, but all the YouTube videos I watched, shows it dripping nicely onto the area needed. This one melts and sticks to the tip of the iron. So i have to wipe it quickly onto whatever I need soldered. Works for me, but being a first time solderer, I was confused and am unsure if that's the way its supposed to be.If so, I can change this review or if user error.

Just worked for 3 mins, got red hot in the base of the metal (not the too) and then stop working. I wish I could have returned but I'm overseas deployed and I don't have the time or the means to returned

Its a great value. Had to make power cord longer, other than that, its wonderful!

Need to include better flux. I would have paid a few bucks extra for a decent flux. Soldering is so much more difficult when the flux is not up to par.
