Why are bugs in my jalapeño seasoning? How should I store it? I have been keeping in my cupboard.

I really don't understand how there are bugs in your seasoning. I have used this for many years amnd I don't even close the top after sprinkling on food. Jalapeno is hot! and the seasoning is very salty. Maybe the bugs dropped in just before you used the product because I don't think they can survive for long in that seasoning.
