Rustichella d'Abruzzo has the reputation of being the best semi-widely available dried pasta. The very simple reason for this is that it is, in fact, the best semi-widely available dried pasta. Both the texture of the pasta, itself, as well as the consistency at al dente are second-to-none. I also find that if I accidentally go over by a minute and cook to "normal", as opposed to al dente, the consistency is still pretty good; as opposed to many other pastas that seem to go immediately from al dente to mushy. The flavor is excellent and has a distinctive but subtle malty taste to it that I enjoy. The money is... the money. It is obviously expensive for dried pasta, but dried pasta is so cheap to begin with that it doesn't feel like much of a big deal. (Get Rao's dried pasta if you are on a budget -- it isn't as good, but it is still very high quality, imo.)

Aside from being the best one can make at home, this Italian fettuccine was incredible. The best I have ever eaten. It is far better than any typical store-bought, including other Italian options. The flavor was incredible. This manufacturer produces a variety of pasta, all of which have been exceptional. All have added a new level of enjoyment to our Italian pasta dishes.

Wow. Well worth purchasing quality pasta. I’ve never tasted fettuccine anywhere near as good as this! Pasta is nice and thick. So easy to cook al dente.

This is really a different pasta. The consistency is wonderful and the taste is different. I can tell everyone, please try this pasta before you eat something else. If you want to eat just carbs, at least eat this one!
