Subzero Hopkins 16621 Ice Crusher Ice Scraper (Colors May Vary)

Tried and true scraper. I lost my last one. Hd to buy another. Nice grip, and strong.

Not that I have been through many, but this is by far the best window scraper that I have ever used. I feel compelled to offer a disclaimer at the beginning of this review: I do not live in New England or the upper Midwest. I live in central North Carolina, where a few inches of snow is a major event. So my primary use of this scraper is nearly always going to be for frost, not snow. Nonetheless, the times that I have had to use it this winter have been as effortless as ever. Normally, I let my car run with defrost on for several minutes in the morning, then scrape with a really cheap scraper. That usually still takes a little longer than expected and I still have a difficult time not having small streaks of frost that linger. Since I've been using this scraper, the job is effortless. All of the frost is cleared away in no time without streaks. This morning, I even used it without letting the car warm up on defrost first, and the effort and result were no different.The foam handle is very comfortable and helps some to keep the coolness off your hands. The frost scraping end is very thin, which is a reason why I think it is so effective. It also is longer than most cheap scrapers, so I am able to reach 2/3 of the way across the windshield with no problems.For my purposes of clearing away frost in the morning after cold nights (will probably use it on a few inches of snow 1-2 times per year) this scraper does as good of a job as any that I have used. My needs when it comes to scraping car windows are generally very mild, but I would still highly recommend this item.

This is a good product. The scrapper end is substantial in size and for the most part cuts a nice clean path. The teeth on the opposite end do a decent job dislodging areas of chunked ice. I really like the rubberized oval shaped handle. It feels good in the hand and offers a secure grip. (This handle is quite robust and may be somewhat awkward in a smaller hand).Recently multiple layers of sleet, snow and freezing rain where dumped on us. As you can imagine, it took awhile to work through all that mess. But this scraper did a pretty good job. I like this product. I think you will too.

This little scraper works really great on frost and thin ice, soooo much better than any scraper attached to a snow brush that I've ever had. It takes the frost off in nice wide swaths instead of little pencil thin lines, making clearing the windshield and windows super quick. When it comes to thicker ice....this falls short. It just doesn't break through it. Fortunately, we don't get an awful lot of ice where I live. Having the separate scraper with the shorter handle is great for removing frost on the inside of the windshield as well, trying to remove it with a scraper on the end of a long handled snow brush was super awkward and darn near impossible. This little scraper feels pretty heavy duty. The ones on the end of snow brushes I've always managed to break within a few uses. This feels like it will last for several winters.

I am glad I got this Subzero Ice Crusher, but so far, we have only had snow so I have not had an opportunity to try it out. It is exactly as advertised on Amazon and feels great in my hand. I believe it will really make a difference when the ice comes, which will be soon.

Very handy and the size makes it easy to store inside the car.

I've had this handy scraper for over a year now and it still looks and functions great (nothing chipped, cracked, or peeling). One end has an ice rake to help break up tough films of ice, and the other end is the scraper, which is what I use most of the time. I've found that scraping up and down works well for the car door windows, and scraping horizontally or diagonally works well for the front and rear windshields. The blade is made of a really tough, durable plastic and the edge is fine and level. It's helped me remove all kinds of tough ice deposits and packed snow on my car cleanly, quickly, and easily. The foam on the handle provides a good, comfortable grip. I highly recommend the Hopkins Subzero 16621 Ice Crusher Ice Scraper. Makes an excellent gift, too.

This ice scraper works okay, but it's not heavy duty. I live in the South (USA), and most mornings in the winter I have a thin coat of ice on my windshield. This scraper will get most of it, but you have to push pretty hard. I would not recommend it to anyone living in the north, where you'd have thicker ice more often. I also have to "choke up" on the handle a lot; the plastic is not strong enough to hold it at the end and still have enough force to scrape off ice. I have to reach pretty hard to get to the middle of my windshield, and it's a good workout to get my windshield clean. At least it warms me up, but it doesn't speak well to the quality of this ice scraper. You could do worse, but you could do better, too.
