They burn well once lit and have a strong balsam scent that isn't totally "smoky", and fills a room with a great balsam/pine smell-I think it is one of the best incenses for a "balsam" smell I've found. I used several, one in two adjoining rooms, and the balsam lingered easily for a day or two (start out burning them one at a time to customize your scent...they can be overwhelming if too many are used at the same time).

**Q: Are these sticks like in the picture, or a row of cones - like the woman shows in her review?**
A: A row of cones.

**Q: How do you get it to stay lit? It keeps 'burning out' so to speak and it won't smolder/softly burn the way incense is meant to.**
A: I think since they are very porous, moisture may be keeping it from staying lit,,,, I microwaved mine on a paper towel or maybe use your oven on low to dry them out,,, then store in a glass jar with a tight lid. Different climates I bet have an effect on them?

**Q: How is the thrift box different than the other boxes from Paine’s?**
A: This incense is the same type and quality, it's just that this box has 50 stocks versus some of the other boxes have different quantities.

**Q: Does this include a wooden holder?**
A: Yes. There is a small wooden holder.

Scent is still the same old reliable, but the incense is now small and stumpy as opposed to the older version. Luckily a new “stand” accompanying it is enclosed
