KitchenAid KMCS1016GSS 1.6 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave in Stainless Steel

Clock display stopped working after 1 year. Number buttons stopped working soon after. We had to use the 30 second option if we want to use the microwave for any reason. Right at the 2 year mark, everything stopped working. A quick google search shows I'm far from the only one with the same experience. Very very poor quality. I called KitchenAid customer service. They are no help, even lied about the manufactured date - told me it was manufactured in February 2016 when the microwave itself says it was manufactured in October 2016. They told me they offer no service or parts on the model - which to me means they have so many issues with this model that it would be too much trouble for them to offer any help. They did let me know that our builder had purchased a 1 year extended warranty but that has conveniently expired a month ago and now they can do nothing. BUT if i'm willing to buy a new one, they'll give me a 6 month extension on the 1 year warranty for free! Wow, they must think I'm an idiot. I had always thought KitchenAid was "high end" kitchen appliances. No, they are just garbage appliances with high end prices.

Purchased 10/24/14 The paint has been peeling away from the side of the microwave! DEFECT!!!! This paint is peeling away from the top of the microwave near the vent holes. A place that rarely gets touched! It has not been scratched. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT! KitchenAid/Whirlpool's response: We recommend you don't use it! Throw it away. KitchenAid/Whirlpool refuse to offer any assistance with their defective microwave! I recommend you not buy a KitchenAid/Whirlpool microwaves.

Product doesn’t last. Door issue as others have stated. I am 4 years in to a complete kitchen of kitchenaid appliances and every piece has failed

The keyboard control went out after 1 year of light use. $500 on a pos. Buy a different brand.
