They provide very low friction surfaces allowing the furniture to be slid easily over floor surfaces including carpets. As the glides are self adhesive I've no doubt that you could attach them to the bottom of shoes but unless you are trying to turn your shoes into skates I've no idea why you would want to do this. Attaching them to the soles of shoes would make them very low friction and you would be slipping and sliding around all over the place. A VERY DANGEROUS IDEA!!! **Q: what is the thickness of these gliders ?** A: Hello, the thickness is 5mm for gliders up to 50mm. The larger sizes are 6mm thick. Hope this helps. **Q: Can I use on carpet for v heavy sofa an bed?** A: The main use of these are for heavy furniture and white goods, on all types of flooring including carpets. How well they will work will vary and depend on overall weight of the item, the amount of floor contact and coverage of the glides, thickness of carpet etc. they always make a big difference, but results vary **Q: I need a specific internal diameter measurement** A: The questioner does not state the size of disc he is interested in, which makes an accurate answer difficult. If it is any help my discs were advertised as 30mm diameter and they are all 30mm diameter, they are 5mm thick and the curved edges leave a central diameter, the bit that sits on the floor, is 20mm. Exactly what the internal diameter of a flat disc is I have no idea. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great! Easy to use and protects! *by Z***Z on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 September 2023* I got these after i had my new wood flooring done downstairs. I popped them on the feet of my sofa, dining table and TV unit and it works a treat. My dining table is even easier to move now, it just glides along the floor. Would fully recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Slips and glides! *by A***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 February 2023* Size as described, sticks well (so far) to the wooden legs of a very heavy oak table, which I'd prepped with a white spirit wipe. Most importantly, allows the table to be moved across the carpet with very minimal effort! Previously, this was a 2 person lift and shift job, now it's a simple lean and go! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to apply then Easy to glide *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 July 2023* Got these to try on heavy furniture. Simply peel off backings to stick to base of furniture. Now so much easier to glide furniture over carpet. So impressed I ordered some more for rest of furniture. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/113883941-lifeswonderful-ptfe-teflon-furniture-glides-round-self-adhesive-sliders-variety](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/113883941-lifeswonderful-ptfe-teflon-furniture-glides-round-self-adhesive-sliders-variety) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
