The Impossible aims to get skateboarding right. Journalist Cole Louison gets inside the history, culture, and major personalities of skating. Review: Great Read - I bought those for my son because I encourage him to be an active reader and I’m always looking for a book that will captivate his attention. My son really enjoyed reading this book. It is well written and sturdy. Review: great insight on the influence of skateboarding - Excellent research on the full history of the sport and how it got its place in mainstream sport culture. Louison pulls you into the world of the skateboarding greats including Ryan Schekler and Rodney Mullen -- how they got to where they are and the road they traveled. Great description, insight and storytelling.

Rodney Mullen, the best ever. What's more to say.
I have skated for over 20 years, Rodney Mullen is a hero of mine so I was looking for a book that was somewhat indepth and factual. I think this is the best skateboarding book I have read. I thought I knew a lot about Rodney but I this book taught me a few things I didn't know. I'll read this book again someday, too good to read just once.

incorrect history
Bought this for my husband who loves skateboarding history and art. He is enjoying reading it, however there are quite a few facts in this book that are incorrect. Seems the author could have just Googled the info if he didn't really know. Kinda strange.

A Great Reflection on Skateboarding
I strongly recommend this book for skateboarding fans, especially ones who grew up in the 90s skateboarding scene and X-Games.

Perfect Summer Reading for Your Skateboarding Child
Want a great narrative on the history of skateboarding? You know how hard it is to get kids to do summer reading. Well, if your child is even a little bit into skateboarding--guaranteed they will want to read this book...and finish it!

EXCELENTE

Didn't really understand how the skate culture was seeded and how tough these crew really are. Enjoyed this book and could not put it down.

A good history marred by factual errors.
A good history of skateboarding which centres on Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen and Ryan Sheckler, written in quite an informal, chatty style. Watch out though - readers more knowledgeable than me about the topic can find a fair number of factual errors.
