Keracolor Color + Clenditioner 3-in-1 Color-Depositing Conditioner, Gentle Cleansing Conditioner Infusing Semi-Permanent Hair Color, 23 Shades, 12 Fl Oz

I have white temples and the rest is salt & pepper brown/gray. I was using the Red Clenditioner color - but when it fades it looks too pink on my white temples. I was going for a more natural look so I bought the Mocha in hopes it would add some brown to the red and not turn so pink. Unfortunately, the Mocha with the Red seems to fade into somewhat of a lavender. So, now I have added Copper to the mix. It seems to be toning down the red a bit and working well with the Mocha. I will continue to work with all 3 colors to get the richness I like. Red is giving me a strong undertone, Mocha adds "natural" color and Copper adds overall highlights and sparkle. Notes! This color is supposed to fade - it isn't permanent. Clenditioner cautions up front that the color doesn't cover gray well. Copper alone on brown/gray was too orange (way back in the beginning I started with Copper first then switched to Red.) Red alone on brown/gray looks too "fake." Mocha seems to help tame the other colors down but isn't very strong on its own. ANY color can take several applications to get to the color you want to achieve. To maintain the color I ONLY use Clenditioner - not any other shampoo or conditioner. I put Clenditioner on dry hair and leave it on for 30 minutes. Use gloves. I cover my bathroom sink with a large potty pad. Clendtioner can stain some surfaces. I wash it out in the kitchen sink. It got everywhere when I washed it out in the shower. Clenditioner leaves my hair soft and shiny with bounce. I won't use anything else!

FOR PEOPLE TRYING OUT FUN COLORS AT HOME: Decided to update my old review since I’ve used a LOT of keracolor during this pandemic. You see, I last got my hair professionally bleached in February, and have since been using keracolor to cope with not being able to get my hair touched up. Thus far, I’ve tried copper, red, pink, rose gold, purple, mocha, and honey. I have naturally light brown hair that’s bleached, but with roots. To use keracolor, I apply it to dry hair and leave it on for 20 minutes - 60 minutes, depending on how much color I’m trying to deposit. Sometimes, like with red and pink, I’ve applied it 2-3 times to get my desired results. The first I tried is rose gold. Rose gold is lovely on bleached hair, and it fades to a light brown or a pink brown, which looks natural and pretty growing out. I bought the jumbo size so I can use it every cherry blossom season while I’m still growing out my bleached hair. You really have to pack this one on if you want it to pop though. I recommend applying to dry hair, brushing through, then blobbing on more. If you hair is long, get the jumbo one or two containers. The pink is lovely. I applied it twice to dry hair for 40 minutes each, it stayed bright for 2 weeks washing everyday, faded into a bubblegum pink, then pastel. I didn’t get a pic of the purple, but it faded really quickly on my bleached hair. It may have done better if I’d applied it a second time, but I didn’t care to find out. Next, red. I wouldn’t recommend this one on bleached hair unless you plan to reapply it every few days. Boy oh boy did it it fade quickly. And the fade from the red is not pretty on bleached hair. It just looks sad. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. The honey I applied after using a head and shoulders, vitamin C, and dish soap, I applied honey to brighten up my hair and wow! I also used honey pre-pandemic to darken my bleached hair. If your blonde is a little too blonde for you, this livens it up! I had used this before on my light brown hair to brighten it too, but for brown hair you should pack it on. I tried copper, which came out gorgeous but I just didn’t like it on me. Still worked well. Last, I combined mocha and copper to create the lovely color in the last photo. I applied 2x to cover blonde hair. It’s a lovely product! Definitely an affordable alternative that allows you temporary fun hair. Overall would recommend it!

I've been trying to tone down and "de-stripe" these crappy highlights for months. My hair is dark brown. I was afraid to get the darker brown, so I got the Mocha to hopefully blend the highlights in better. The first couple of times I left it on for about 10-12 minutes and nothing happened. This time I left it on for about 35-40 minutes and it did subdue and blend the highlights better. So don't be afraid to leave it on longer than directed. Overall, I think the Mocha is a kind of medium, mousy brown. It made my hair a duller and flatter shade. I think it could help to even out your color if you have a lot of shades in it. I don't think it is a pretty standalone shade. I wore plastic gloves, so it didn't stain my skin. A couple of drops landed on my white countertop and did leave a very faint stain. It did not stain my white tub as I was rinsing it out, but I kept the spray of the water hitting the area where the color landed. It is not conditioning whatsoever. Unless you use an additional conditioner, your hair will feel dried out. It smells kind of like frosting and lingers after you wash and dry your hair. Noticeable scent for a few hours. Random thoughts, but maybe they will help address some of your questions! :)

I've been using this product for a couple of years now. I've always used either red or brown tones on medium brown hair - the color was decent (just a slight tint on darker hair), it was easy to use, and didn't stain my nails or shower. I just purchased teal for the first time, and it's been a totally different experience. The color itself is a bit patchy, but alright. I bleached my hair to white-blonde before applying, and it took well to most of my hair. The roots are having a hard time keeping the color (despite being bleached just as much as the rest of my hair), but I've only done two applications, so I'm hopeful it will continue to provide more coverage. However, this stuff is a mess. The first time I applied it, I used it like regular conditioner, which always worked fine for the warmer tones. But, it quickly dyed my nails, hands, shoulders, and shower. Everything it touched instantly turned blue. And it didn't just wipe off like the other colors I've used - my shower and nails are both permanently stained. I found that Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes do a decent job of getting it off of skin, but nothing gets rid of it completely (the second photo was taken after scrubbing my hands several times, then using a dozen of those wipes). I now know that I have to wear gloves while applying, sit on the floor of the shower to minimize splatter, and be VERY careful. I took these precautions during the second application, and everything worked out fine. But, I wanted to be sure to share my experience to hopefully prevent others from living in that old Eiffel 65 song like I now do. **EDITED TO ADD: After several applications, the color is quite pretty. It's super convenient to be able to just use the conditioner when the color starts to fade, rather than having to go through the process of dying it (just don't forget to use gloves!). The shade differs depending on how many applications you do, and the teal is really only "teal" with one or two applications - after that, it becomes very blue, but will fade back to teal after a few washes. Overall, I really do like this product and will continue using it. I'm sticking with 3 stars because 1.) It stains EVERYTHING, and 2.) The color just isn't consistent (looks different after each application, appears different shades in different lighting, etc.).

I dyed my hair ash brown two weeks ago after being blonde my whole life. It looks really good at first, but started to fade and look more like a dirty blonde. I got this to make it darker again and it literally did nothing. Waited 20 minutes both times and covered my hair completely with it and I cannot tell the difference. When I look at the bottle it shows pictures of how dark it will get after you do it. My hair did not change at all. I followed the directions and did what I was supposed to. I’m extremely irritated. I wasted $22 for something that did not work at all. I can’t return it since I used it. I was super excited about this product because of the good reviews. I am super disappointed and do not recommend wasting your money on this.

Works good, takes a couple two or three applications to get it to the color I want but works don’t use too much or will dry out your hair!

Surely not everyone will have this problem. But I do. This product causes hair loss at the roots for me— not breakage. (My long fine hair isn’t blow dried or curled. No heat damage, no dye, just super fine and low volume virgin hair.) I was using this in mocha to blend a few grey hairs at the top of my scalp. For one thing, the grey coverage is poor, which I was kind of expecting because the product says as much, but I figured it would make it less obvious, which it does to some extent. The BIG issue I have, using this 2-3 times per week in the shower for about 5 minutes at a time on wet hair, only gently spreading this into the top of my crown and top hairs only, is that I experience a LOT of hair loss after each treatment. Several strands (nearly chunks) in the shower at the drain on days I did it. You know what an alarming amount of loss looks like for you—this is that amount for me. IF I had a ton of thick hair, that wouldn’t worry me much, but I don’t have hair to spare. I know what a normal amount of loss looks like for me. Then, on days I use this, even MORE than usual in my brush after the shower. On days I wash my hair without using this product, I don’t have this much loss. It’s a very noticeable difference. I stopped using this product. If you have thick hair and lots of it, you’ll probably have no issue. For me, I think it’s safer to use a once in a while Natural Instincts type semipermanent dye than use this every few days. Not worth it and would mot recommend if you have concerns with thinning/hair loss. Even if it’s not damaging the strands, per se, I do think it’s possible it’s irritating the scalp/roots. I don’t see redness or evidence of an allergy, but something is just not right with this product in my case.

This is an overall great product. I have dark brown hair with spread out, but noticeable grays (my hair in the before pic is all the same brown shade, just reflecting the light). But I don’t want to dye my hair and forever be trapped dealing with root touch ups. So this is the perfect ongoing solution. I left it on for 20 minutes. It smells great with no irritation, and when I blow dried it, it felt like I’d used a gloss treatment. And the grays were perfectly blended and unnoticeable (unless you KNEW what you were looking for, and you were up close and under bright lighting, like me) The color fades gradually with each shower, but it’s easy to redo the process. And it’s a HUGE amount of product, so I’m not worried about having to make it last and using it sparingly.

My professional hairdresser said “I don’t normally recommend store-bought hair products, but I recommend this one.’’ I use it like conditioner and leave it in my hair 5-15 mins once a week. It leaves my hair shiny and gives the colour a vibrant boost between hair colouring appts.

If you are a natural brunette and struggling to embrace going grey, this review is for you…. It can be a particularly difficult journey to transition to grey when you are a brunette (vs blonde). I have tried and failed so many times over the last 5 years. I tried 1) going platinum blonde, 2) trying to maintain blonde at home in the pandemic and accidentally frying my hair (!), 3) having to chop all my hair off after frying my hair (!!), 4) accepting the inevitable and embracing my new salt and pepper hair, but 5) changing my mind when I became a grandmother for the first time (it was a bit too much at once!) and applying a box of apparently temporary “semi permanent wash-out” brown hair dye, only to then find out it does not EVER wash out, even after trying every method under the sun to remove the colour, to then 6) FINALLY conceding defeat forever (or so I thought) and growing my grey hair in - albeit at a snail-like pace - over the past year and a half. But after all these ups and downs, in my heart I was still yearning to find a solution because I feel 20 years older than I am when I look in the mirror. I support all women who choose to embrace their grey and age gracefully, as well as those who choose to maintain their hair dye. It’s a very personal choice. I wish I was courageous enough to fully embrace my grey hair, and I will one day, but I’m not there yet. Even though I’m 49 this month, I still feel young and when I look at myself in the mirror I cannot reconcile the old woman looking back at me! Also, I am trying to make up for many years I have lost due to chronic pain preventing me from living life to the fullest. I provide this context because I struggled for YEARS to figure out a way to easily hide my greying brunette hairs without the need for constant hair dye and root touch ups. I lost so much hair length due to the number of times I had to “start over” after all the above failed attempts. With this in mind, I am so incredibly grateful I found this holy grail of a product. After just one treatment, I feel like my younger self again! And the results will get better with repeated applications. For my first treatment, after researching the best strategy on YouTube, I applied a liberal amount of the Mocha to my dry hair for 40 minutes, covered my head in glad wrap for good measure, and prayed to the hair gods that this stuff is the real deal that others claim it to be…. If you’re a middle aged female, you’ll be familiar with that anticipatory nervous excitement you get when a timer finally goes off and you step in the shower to wash out a new hair dye. You’re rinsing the dye out and wondering, with hope, just how amazing (or not) your hair is going to be when you step out and look in your mirror. Today, I finally took these steps and when I looked in the mirror I was gobsmacked at how amazing my hair not only looked, but felt! And this is just my first application. I can only imagine how amazing my hair is going to look and feel after repeated treatments!! The very first thing I did when I got out of the bathroom was order another bottle of this magical Clenditioner. I very, very rarely write reviews, but this product is so incredible that I have to write this in the hope that if this helps just one woman out there like me, then I have shared a bit of good in this crazy, messed-up world. So do yourself a favour and give it a try. I might even buy a few different colours so I can mix it up. But please don’t rush out and buy all the Mocha because I need this stuff in my life! Ps. Re the reviews stating it didn’t work on grey hair - it DOES work if you use the right method. Apply generously to DRY hair, leave it on under glad wrap for 40 minutes for your first application (but no more due to risk of allergic reaction), and repeat the process daily until you get the desired level of intensity and coverage. Update: After four sessions of colouring both dry and in the shower, the hue is more of a really dark grey with a tinge of purple, but I’m getting comments from people about how much they love my hair! So even though it’s not as brown as it was after my first use, I’ll definitely keep on using it and may even branch out to our colours. I’m thinking of trying Merlot next.

It’s been able to do what no hairdresser can seem to, which is GET RID OF BRASSINESS!! after spending $800 on my hair and still not being happy, I was a little skeptical about how much this could do for me, but it literally gave me the exact colour that I wanted. So happy with my purchase, will definitely be repurchasing 💗
