I have used these bags in our Kenmore trash compactor exclusively for the past five months. These heavy-gauge bags are made in the USA from recycled plastic. The homeowner must find a way to secure the trash bag within the compactor - Perhaps a heavy-duty rubber band, modifying the bag as demonstrated in my video, or by some other means. Twist ties secure a full bag of trash. FORTES * This is a strong bag in spite of being manufactured from recycled plastic. The bag can be packed without fear of leaking or tearing. * 2.5 mil thick! * Made in the USA! FOIBLES * Twist ties: 1) easily misplaced or lost and 2) weak - won't secure the trash within the bag. * No built-in means to secure bag within compactor (See Kirkland Compactor Bags, 18 Gallon, Smart Fit Gripping Drawstring, 70 ct ) as an example of a self-securing bag. UPDATE 23 October 2016 My wife and I have been using these bags for 2.67 years now, AND despite of _overfilling the bag_ and _bag installation by kitchen cleaning staff_, these bags ZERO tears! The bag is remain intact, and in less than ideal conditions, that I've increased the rating from 4 to 5 stars. Because some customers don't wish to be bothered with personally securing the bag, the reservation will stands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED with minor reservations

These would be fine if they had draw strings, and they also tend to slip of the top of the compactor after being placed over the edges with top folded over and down correctly. They are heavy enough, but I will try to get the dray string next time. It's just easier.

I've purchased probably 10 boxes of these compactor bags from Amazon. They fit our compactor perfectly, and the price cannot be beat. One of those boxes was defective, same as indicated in some of the reviews - the bottoms of all the bags in the roll were not glued well or properly so it easily splits open cleanly. Instead of returning them, I just use for other things since they are excellent thickness. My favorite use - drop cloths when painting. Much cheaper than buying the real thing and thicker as well. They have not been in stock for some time - I hope they do get more so I can stock up.

I have used this brand for several years and they have always fit my trash compactor perfectly. One day I received a message from Amazon that they were on sale for , what I thought, a great price, so I bought three boxes. Well, just yesterday my old supply ran out so I opened one of the new boxes. I immediately thought that they did not feel quite right. When I put the bag in my compactor, there was no way that it would fit over the compactor. I ended up having to slit the top of the bag just to fit it in enough that the paddle would go down with our taking the bag with it. I then measured one of the bags, and instead of it being 2 ft 1 in wide, it is only 2 ft wide. No wonder it would not fit. I have written to the company but have not heard back as of now. So what I am saying is, This Was Not A Sale! If the product is useless, it's not a sale.

the bags are very nice. they are strong and easy to tie. Very clean if there is a strong smell in the garbage these will do.

Perforated cuts to separate bags is horrible ruined 2 bags trying to get 1. Tore the bottom seam from the bag

Great bags. Very tough. I use them to line my backpack on Muti day hikes. White makes the contents easy to find and keeps everything safe from water.

They are Thicker and Much Stronger than common trash bags. There is No Worry of these bags tearing open. Worth every penny once you feel just how thick and durable. Usually we have to pay for quality, but the price is very fair. Once you try Contractor kind of garbage bags you will wonder why didn't I think of that before? Those bags are a fraction of the cost of the ones recommended for my compactor. The only small inconvenient, the holes to attach them to the compactor are absent. A small price to pay for an excellent product. Highly recommended.

Good to take hiking to put all dry stuff in, my hydration bladder leaked and everything remained dry, bag didn't rip either.

Very happy with these bags, we are renovating our house and were using the husky brand bags to get rid of construction debris (the husky brand is great btw) just too large for the weight that I can lift! Half the bag space was going to waste! Found these bags that are half the size and only .5 thinner, the plastic is super durable and the small bag is easier to lift/manage
