Untreated, unvarnished, natural leather cord has become very popular today. Because it is completely natural, it has both the rough texture and softness of suede, as well as slight variations in color. Its versatility makes it popular for beading, knotting, dyeing, and crafts that strive for the now-in-fashion, “Natural Look.” Because it is untreated it safe for making bird and other animal toys. Made in India. PLEASE NOTE: This is not the rawhide used for making drums. This is rawhide in the sense that it is not treated with chemicals after vegetable tanning and it keeps the qualities and color of the hide. Very thin rawhide
It’s hard to find untreated leather, so I was happy to find this. It’s just more fragile than I had hoped for. I use it to make toys for my parrots. Unfortunately, it is so fragile that the parrots shred it in a blink of an eye. It was delivered timely and packaged approximately.

No additives!
I use this for my cats toys. I wanted a product with no added chemicals, bleaches or dyes. It also doesn't fray, so my cat is not swallowing fibers. Its probably also great for craft projects. My cat gives it 4-paws up!

very rough, poor quality
I was very disappointed in this cord; it kept breaking every few feet and I was unable to use it for the project that I bought it for. I can't even return if because its just a pile of scraps at this point. It was also not very smooth and kept shedding leather particles all over everything.
