I was impressed by both the quality of this gate in terms of the gate construction itself, and the completeness of the installation package. It included a number of very useful items: (1) a "foot" to hold the gate upright while installing it, which makes measuring and selecting the installation location much easier, (2) multiple fastening options including hardware (to screw the mounting pads into walls), friction, adhesive, a set of wider spacers for accommodating baseboards, and a special angle adapter for locking into banisters when no other option is available, (3) a template for drilling holes when using screws, and (4) easy selection of multiple gate widths for various installation scenarios. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the gate is very solid and secure. The locking mechanism itself is also unique, it requires both a thumb-press and a lift to release the gate, preventing accidental opening if, for example, a child leans or hangs on the gate, and the gate has a spring-loaded automatic closure. Highly recommended for home safety!

This is a great gate! It looks nice. It was easy to install. It keeps my German Shepherd puppy where she is supposed to be.

I am super pleased with this baby gate. I had to return the first one I bought, because it wasn’t quite wide enough to fit the stairwell. This one truly was. And because there wasn’t room at the top of our stairs to anchor the gate, we had to put it on the first step. So we lost almost 8” in height. Thank goodness this gate is extra tall. So it is still plenty secure for our toddler grandson. The gate was not at all difficult to put together or to secure to the walls. And it is very secure. And I love the double lock mechanism. No toddler is getting through that. It was also very easy to take down. Since our grandson only visits a couple of times a year, we don’t need to leave it up all the time. But it’s easy to put back up. One other feature I liked was the choice of how to anchor the cups (that hold the sides of the gate) to the wall. You have the option of screws or double sided sticky tape. We ended up using both, because there wasn’t one spot we couldn’t get a screwdriver into. This is a very high quality product and well worth the money. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I have purchased several other baby gates for my stair case. This is by the far the best one! It was super easy to install and is very sturdy. I wanted a gate that could be installed without having to drill holes in the wall and yet withstand tugging and pulling. This one is perfect!

Excellent quality and is performing very well. Easy to assemble and adjust and the door is very reliable. The unit itself is a 5-star!! My issue was that it comes with assembly warnings on both sides of the handle and one that goes from the top to the bottom of the door frame. Even with a razor blade a goo-gone, they are impossible to remove without dulling or damaging the finish! And removing them- it took literally twice as long as unpacking and assembling the gate! I went from satisfied to really irritated. The stickers are assembly warnings- so they are not intended to be permanent. Change the adhesive so that’s true- then you have a 5-star for sure.

We originally purchased a gate by Regalo that was flimsy and did not inspire confidence. We returned that gate. While $40 more expensive than our original purchase, this Cumbor gate could not be more solid, easy to install, and a perfect solution to our pet containment needs. We were so pleased, we mmediately purchased another one for our 2nd home. I rarely write reviews but this is an excellent product.

Once we got the measurements and read the first page or two of the instruction manual, we had no problem installing the gate. It was super easy, easier than I even anticipated. Just want to stress the importance of not messing with the tightening once you’ve cut the red zip tie that has a sign that says do not cut until after install. It messes with the way the gate shuts. Make sure it’s secure, cut the red zip tie and don’t mess with it. It works beautifully. I’m so happy with it. Easily worth the money. We’re getting at least 3 more because we have 3 levels of our home and 2 sets of stairs so we’ll have a total of 4 gates. We simply used the pressure based install rather than the screws because our home is newly renovated and we don’t want to mess up the walls and the brand new banisters. It’s insane how sturdy this baby gate is. I’m thoroughly impressed and I absolutely love how nice it looks. 10 out of 10 recommend. UPDATE::: This update has everything to do with having to remove the gate and then reinstall it. I genuinely believed once you install the gate (using the pressure mounts only) that it absolutely could not be removed and reinstalled. Boy was I wrong. Yes, the initial instructions say not to cut the big red zip tie until you’ve finished the installation, but it’s not as scary as they make it seem. You can literally remove this gate however many times you need to and then reinstall it just fine. The one thing you will need, however, is heavy duty zip ties (or multiple regular but elongated zip ties). Which we had because we had been in the process of moving . Because we moved into our newly renovated home very recently from a super tiny 2 bedroom apartment, we had to buy a lot of new furniture. I was concerned about the fact that we wouldn’t be able to reinstall the baby gates if we had to remove them and we were fully prepared to just chuck these in that case and buy 2 new gates. I mean, what the heck are you supposed to do with a toddler running around? Just not put in a gate because it’s gonna get in the way 3 weeks later when the furniture is delivered??? Of course not. What happens when you remove the pressure from the pressure mounts is that the door part of the gate basically separates and your first instinct is to panic. Which is exactly what I did. But fear not, for I have the answer! You’re absolutely going to need to use some brute force and some sort of zip tie, be it heavy duty or just basic, but what you need with the zip tie is to simply “scrunch” it to the point you can get the gate back into the place you had it installed initially. For us, we had them at the top and bottom of our staircase. As long as it fits, all you have to do is reinstall it like you did the first time. And I did this for the bottom and top of our staircase. Once you get the gate to fit through the space you needed it to fit into, you just keep spinning the little black piece around the screw on both sides and both top and bottom until it’s back into place and BAM it works just like it did before. Because of this, I am an even bigger fan of these gates. They look amazing they function perfectly and you can remove them over and over if necessary. Freaking awesome. Again, this is only for the pressure mount option. I have no idea if this works for the permanent screw mount.

Expensive but worth every penny. It’s true black. Closes on its own. Super sturdy. I got the extra tall. Dimensions fit my space perfectly. Love this.
