WOW! It's almost 4:30am, but I couldn't stop reading!
There is so much taking place in the lives of the Shipyard Girls and the others who play a big part in this series. This book is very well written. There are a few chapters that take you back to the early 1900's, but they are the back story for one of the characters. It's well marked so as not to confuse the reader. I'm in awe of anyone who can write in such a way that you feel you know these girls. I'm also in awe of the ability to write many mini stories within one big story. Since there are at least six shipyard girls, there are stories about each of their lives, plus the lives of the other supporting characters. Let me tell you, set aside a good long time, because you'll not want to stop reading! There are so many exciting things going on, that you won't be able to put it down. Definitely a 10 out of the five stars!

Once it got going, the storyline was terrific. But there were things that frustrated me as I was reading, hence the scoring. The beginning of the book was so identical, word for word, to the previous one that I thought I'd purchased the same book twice, and I don't mean the "let me refresh your memory"part. The other frustrating part was either the writer or the editor forgot who the characters were, confusing Agnes for Pearl and Arthur for Albert. That caused a bit of confusion, rereading, and ire toward the careless mistakes. I hope the next book shares what was so horrid in Maisie's life, because not knowing made both her and Pearl so shallow that I was hoping the Wear took them both.

The Shipyard Girls
This story continues the saga of friends and co-workers:Rosie,Dorothy, Angie, Polly, Martha and Hannah and Polly’s family.Work lives and home drama take the reader on a fascinating and at times dangerous ride. Hope endures and the next book is one I am looking forward to reading.

Becoming Family
I have loved every book in this series. They are well written in a chatty style and involve the reader from the beginning to the end. I feel as if I know the characters very well and can't wait until I get the next book. They are of the "can't put down " type of story. I'm sure anyone who reads the series will feel the same way. Happy reading

simply a wonderful, addictive read which I cannot recommend highly enough
Secrets of the Shipyard Girls written by Nancy Revell is a wonderful work of historical fiction which I enjoyed immensely as once again the author created a very addictive storyline based on the lives of the girls who worked on the Ships in Sunderland during the Second World War.The book is based once again on the girls who have come together in a place of work which was always run by men and it was very much a man's world on the Shipyard where not only was the work dangerous because of the heavy materials, but mix in the heavy and dangerous tools, mix that in with the threat of Hitler sending his planes to bomb the shipyards to disable the British Navy in any way Hitler could.I love the girls who are all close friends in this excellent book, not only are the ship girls wonderful characters, this book had the hidden advantage of Rosie's job in the local "men's club" is a major part of the storyline and the girls who lived in this house though they dealt in the shadier side of entertainment their love for each other and their new friends who they met through Rosie. There are a few angles to this main storyline which was all very cleverly brought together. The author certainly knows how to keep her readers not only captivated but also guessing until the last page was reached.Shipgirls in Love written by Nancy Revell is a wonderful work of historical fiction which not only brought the early years of the Second World War but also the years prior to the First World War as the author showed her readers a more in-depth look at Pearl who we met in the earlier part of the series as she is Isabel's mother, in name but for Isabel it is a title she really did not deserve.A wonderful work of fiction which I am happy to recommend.

The Shipyard Girls book No.4
This book as with all the others in The Shipyard Girls series is another great read that you cannot put down. I found it very enjoyable and cannot wait for 6 September for the next one "Victory for the Shipyard Girls" (The Shipyard Girls Series). Nancy Revell gets you living with her characters in these books. Let's hope she continues this job keeping us entertained with her excellent writing. If you have read the other Shipyard Girls this is a must. Mine is already on order.

Another great story about the Shipyard Girls
This book continues the story of Polly, Bel, Rosie, Agnes, Joe and their family and friends. Although an important event in the book, I felt that too much time was spent on Bel and Joe's wedding. This book explors Pearl's early life and reveals a big secret from her past. It also does tie up some loose ends with regards to their love lives. I look forward to the next instalment.
