Cap'n Jazz's seminal discography Analphabetapolothology is now available on vinyl for the first time. As Cap'n Jazz's legacy has grown in popularity, so has demand for a vinyl reissue. This is a package well worth the wait. The double LP, recut from the original high resolution masters and pressed at RTI, is packaged in a deluxe gatefold jacket with bonus materials including a full size, 8 page booklet with unseen photos, fliers, and extensive liner notes by Tim Kinsella. The accompanying high quality digital download also includes 10 additional songs from the original CD release.

No Printing Errors, Amazing Album
For me there were no printing errors on the jacket or liner notes like it said in another review. Sounds perfect, though it did skip a tiny part of "Planet Shhh". And in case you didn't know, the vinyl version does not include the songs "In The Clear" (alternate version, original version is on the record), "Soria", "No Use For a Piano Player When You Got a Player Piano", "Scary Kids Scaring Kids", "Bluegrass" (Basically an extended, different version of "Bluegrassish", which is on the record), "Winter Wonderland", "Geheim", "Easy Driver", "Theme To 90210", and "Ooh Do I Love You" (acoustic version, original version is on the record). However, these songs along with the rest of the album come with the vinyl version for free as an MP3 download through Amazon. Oh, and of course the album itself is amazing.

Epic!
My girlfriend loves this band so I had to get her the album. Shipping was excellent. It came just in time for her birthday and she seemed pretty happy! Overall I’m super pleased!

The anthems of my adolescence
For some people it was Led Zeppelin, or Saves the Day, but for me it was caP'n Jazz. When I heard Analphabetapolothology for the first time, everything made sense to me. It didn't make sense to most of my friends at the time, and I know a lot of people who like the other Kinsella projects but not caP'n Jazz. But for me, this album is pretty much the soundtrack to my teenage years. I have never grown tired of it, and I consider it to be among a handful of albums that helped me develop my taste in music.

A requirement to any collection
If you like original emo rock then you must buy this album. It includes almost everything recorded by the band, hence the confusing name given to the compilation. If you can learn how to pronounce the title then you get double points. Analphabetapolothology is an amazing work by an extremely talented group that only gets better with age. The more you listen to it, the more it grows on you.

Misprint batch
There’s printing errors all over the jacket and booklet for some reason, and the record came slightly warped but is playable. Great album of course but maybe this batch is faulty

Quality pressing
Excellent quality pressing of an equally excellent collection.

A classic
One of the most fun albums ever released. I'm not gonna go on a rant about what makes "true emo", all I know is that this band was rad, and for such a messy compilation, its surprising that it seems so flawless.

I got a copy of this in high school and it changed the way I thought about song structure and guitar playing. It's incredible that the median age was 18 or 19 when they made this.

Memorable.
A completely endearing, charming and emotional chunk of songs with powerful drumming, beautiful twinkly guitars, and the abstract lyrics and distinctive vocals of Tim Kinsella. Completely unique within the 90s emo scene. What you get in this collection is almost every Cap'n Jazz song recorded as well as the entirety of their now long out of print debut album. Well worth buying.
