It's Magic for me, so I'd say worth a try!
This is a long review.I'm smitten with this product. I have very straight, fine hair and some scalp issue (tangent: not sure what it is, but it's nearly constantly itchy with tender red patches, but no dandruff, doesn't seem to change depending on climate, been struggling with it for 4 or 5 years). Dermatologist once prescribed me some topical steriods to "see if it helps," which means he didn't know/didn't care what the issue actually is (tangent: crappy health insurance), which did nothing to help, along side the other countless home treatments and products I've tried over time. I recently fell in love with the @jayne_edosalon IG account, and she's constantly singing Hair Story's praises. I don't typically spend a ton on hair care products, but I got a wild hair (pun intended) and ordered the Pre Wash, New Wash, and Hair Scrubber set and was excited to try.So first, the pre wash, which has a hydrogen peroxide smell to it. Used scrubber to get it in there good and it felt great, like a little massager. Didn't know what I was missing there. Left that on 3 or 4 minutes as directed, then rinsed for the New Wash. The smell sold me. It's giving the rosemary mint Aveda shampoo I fell in love with at the salon back in the early 90s, but with some rosiness, but not like an overwhelming amount. Very subtle. I saw a post that recommended the amount of shampoo and conditioner you typically use in one wash and combining those for each new wash, so I did that. It felt like a lot; borderline wasteful. Used the scrubber, rinsed thoroughly. The same post said you'll notice "new movement" in your hair, and I honestly could see and feel it even before it dried. I towel-dried which is what I usually do before bed, brushed it and had no tangles, and scrunched it into shape - I'm trying to rock a toned-down shag so I shaped my bangs, tried to get some natural wave into the length just for some bounce, which I struggle to acheive, and combed my cowlick how I *dream* it will lay, but it never does. The lingering scent and gentle wake of the head massage action lulled me to sleep. In the morning, my hair was like PERFECTLY how I'd styled it the night before. My bangs rocked, my cowlick was nearly undetectable, my ends had shape. My hair was glistening and almost WISPY instead of being stuck together and heavy. When I use my fingers to zhuzh it up at the roots, it actually worked, not a usual thing for me! My scalp continued to feel itchy throughout the day, but it was more often a phantom itch, like a habit of reaching up to scratch and then pleasantly realizing it's not actually that itchy. And when I did scratch, my scalp was noticeably less sensitive so it didn't hurt. I really feel like this stuff was made for me.I'm stoked to try more products, but the ONLY thing I'm not stoked on is the price. So I'd give 4.75-4.9 stars if I could. I don't see my bottle of New Wash or Pre Wash lasting very long. But it could just be the price I'm willing to pay.

Does exactly what it says! A first!
OMG! My hair was loosing curl and dull and dry and all styling products were itching my head less than 24 hrs after use. I used Hairstory ONCE and my hair was noticeably shinier when it was wet, easy to comb, curls sprang up and head felt so clean and not dry or itchy, even after using curling crème and hair spray. I’m shocked by the difference! Still very expensive so using it sparingly, but will buy again if results are like this after every wash.

So far, so good.
So far I like this product. I’d tried to use it in the past and felt like my hair was dirty even after just washing it. I think I wasn’t using enough product, not scrubbing my scalp enough and probably not rinsing enough either, all of which are important if you want this work. It came with a scrubber which I think has helped. I certainly have more body and less frizz now.I’d guess I’ve been using it for about a month and so far, so good. I haven’t used up the entire bag yet, and have been washing my hair a lot less partly because I dread having to spend so much money on shampoo again, but probably will since I no longer have itchy scalp and my hair looks better.Several months later after using 2 bags of product.Unfortunately, I had to quit using this.My hair started falling out. It still had a lot of body and looked pretty good but I noticed that the drain was thick with hair. I could actually feel hair sluicing down my body towards the drain! My brush was also full of hair right after washing. Scared me for sure! So, I quit using it and the problem went away. Yeah, I know, it’s normal to lose some hair, but this was ridiculous. It reminded me of another cream hair cleanser, Wen?, which was eventually sued, if my memory is correct.

Ridiculous Price for this Product!!!
Not to brag, but I have AMAZING hair! It’s 100% my best asset (I lucked out with phenomenal hair genes). It’s long, thick, air dries to beachy waves, blow dries straight or holds a kinky curl forever if I tell it to. So this product’s claims had me intrigued. I already only wash my hair every 4 days and don’t mind no suds. But the first time I used this, it took me 19 pumps to evenly coat my hair! At the insanely ridiculous price of $40 for 8 oz (8 oz is nothing), those with long, thick or coarse hair will burn through this product so quickly. Don’t get me wrong, I will drop money on my hair - IF A PRODUCT WORKS - but this product is not worth it! After washing, I let my hair air dry. The look, the feel everything is the same as it is with my normal shampoo and conditioner. So basically I'd rather buy my salon shampoo and conditioner (organic and also SLS free) at $40 for 67.6 oz that lasts months. Of course I will use up this bottle and see if the results change whatsoever but so far I feel I've just been bamboozled really well by New Wash's marketing. I’m really curious to see allll the R&D that went in to formulate this product, especially when the SLS has been omitted (cost savings to the company right there). It's not like they're inventing the wheel with sulfate free shampoo. But they certainly are reaping all the profits as they've cut out regional distributors, bulk sales to salon owners, box retailers and e-tailers. I feel if they truly cared about the environment (like Toms, for example) and wanted to make a difference in the hair industry (e.g. like Aveda), they should get in touch with reality and bring that price point down.
