Q: What size hose does the tank receive?

It seems as if it was a 5/16 in hose. I used the hose the kit came with even though it seems very cheap. I did not measured it to double check but if you need any the local auto parts stores carry several diameters.

Q: It look good, does it show the fluid level for external view?

No it’s solid, you would have to drill and ad a viewport/tube to see fluid level

Q: Can I use this as a fuel tank for a lawn mower?

Possibly but it may require a vent of some sort. Once the cap is tight the can is sealed except for the hose connection. Most lawnmower gas tanks have a cap that vents. Without a vent fuel won’t flow out
