The good news: It's a great coat rack. It really helped us organize our entryway! Now that it's on the wall, it has been wonderful. This thing should last for a while!The bad news: It's a b**** to mount and assemble. I didn't expect it to be easy, but it could have been easier with some improvements on the directions and parts provided with the kit. 1) I needed to use a socket wrench (not provided with the kit) to tighten the nuts. The directions claim the nuts fit into a screwdriver with the head attachment removed, but that was not the case for me. Lucky me, I already have a socket set. 2) The directions say that both wall brackets need to go into studs, BUT THEY DO NOT! My wall studs are awkwardly spaced, so this was not an option. In the end, I mounted it directly to the dry wall using the anchors provided with the kit (which are not dry wall anchors). Although only 4 of the 6 wall attachment screws engaged, it holds everything shown, and I can still put more weight on the lower piece of wood. If proper dry wall anchors and screws were provided with the kit, I could have saved time, all 6 screws would have engaged, and I wouldn't have had to buy a stud finder.

This wood shelf is rustic and beautiful.When unpacking, I noticed an odd smell; it took me a few minutes to realize I smelled "real wood" not particle board or imitation wood. This is the real deal.I will use this to display my Rae Dunn collection.This shelf arrived a day earlier than expected, so I was super excited to put it together and get it hung on my dining room wall. It is truly stunning.You can use this shelf anywhere in your home. It is meant to be a coat rack shelf but works perfectly for a "mug" hanging shelf too.The only suggestion I have is for the assembly instructions to be a little more detailed and the pictures on the instruction sheet to be clear and not blurred or so dark you can not make out what is pictured. Mine was a little dark. I am a self-proclaimed DIYer so I had no problem assembling this shelf. Oh and the price for something of this quality is extremely fair.I will be buying another one to go in my entryway foyer to use as a coat rack.

Overall decent shelf for the two coats I plan to use it for. Easy to assemble but had to modify due to stud placement. Although it was missing the small hooks that were to be attached on the underside of the top shelf, I didn’t feel that was a big deal and I can find some to use if I want.

It is a beautiful piece but I am still very nervous if you put too much weight on the top shelf it is going to break off from the metal. I also messed up and ended up installing the piece of wood that hooks go on backwards because I could not tell from the instructions which way it went so now I have two holes from the screws being put in the wrong place.

One of the four coat hooks were badly made so the nut would not screw in all the way. I emailed them to ask for a replacement hook and it took them several days to respond and send replacement hooks. Overall, it looks nice on the wall but it took much longer than we thought it would. Changed this review from a 1 star to 3 because we got the replacement hooks. The installation instructions are also confusing.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this. The directions were a little underwhelming, but it wasn't rocket science to construct this piece. Customer Service was very supportive and eager to assist with my questions. While it is decorative and somewhat sturdy, I wouldn't necessarily use this rack for kids backpacks or heavy items--- but it works great for scarves, hats, keys, etc. I am actually considering relocating this piece into my farmhouse kitchen...hmmmm, possible pictures to follow if I choose that route. Lots of possibilities with this versatile piece.

This shelf looks awesome. The materials are high-quality and it's very sturdy. I would definitely recommend buying this. The only negative is the instructions. They were terrible. Just pictures - no words - and the pictures weren't very helpful.

One of the coat hooks was missing (has since been sent) and it’s impossible to fit the nuts on the back as intended without some ingenuity.
