Liquid Wood Coating

I did a video explaining how it works for me, I’m NOT an expert but I did a good research before buying this product and TBH this surprised me, I was after a white oak look and this product help me to achieve it, Truly recommend, easy to apply, the appearance is amazing it has great coverage I used two coats, performance is great and it dries out fast

Let me start off by saying how freaking excited I was when I learned “Stainable Primer” is a thing! As you can see from the pics, I have rather large front doors that needed to be updated with a fresh new look. I knew I didn’t want to take in the task of sanding them all the way down to remove all the white paint and sealer. So I decided to use the chalk paint of stains “Gel Stain”. Though I’ve never worked with gel stain before, how hard could it be right!? WRONG!! That stuff is a nightmare to apply and don’t even get me started on the clean up! Needless to say, I was not happy with the finished results of the gel stain. You could see every place I stopped and started again, giving it a very uneven messy look. After watching many videos on YouTube, I came across one of a man staining his front doors without much sanding and most importantly, he used regular stain!! Imagine my excitement when he busted out the “stainable primer” as his secret to getting beautifully stained doors without the mess and in very little time! He was using a different product brand but I went with retique it liquid wood and I’m so happy I did. A little goes a long way, it’s super easy to apply, it dries really fast, and the stain goes over it beautifully with a smooth natural finish!!

This stuff is AMAZING! We had 2 old white bookcases that my grandfather had built that we saved from going to goodwill when his house was being cleaned out after he passed. We wanted to use them in my husband's mancave bar area, but they need to match better. We painted these with Retique it and stained them with some stain we bought because the one that came with it was a bit too black-brown. They came out really great and totally look like wood. Great product and very easy to use!

My husband and I traded desks and I wanted a change of color. The one downside is that the desk in question was made of cheap particle board in a really outdated color (orangey 2000s style fake wood). I still wanted something that looked like wood, but in a different color. So I got this product. I sanded down any rough or chipped spots, cleaned it well with some regular household degreaser, then did a quick wipe down with some denatured alcohol, then painted the Retique It on with a brush, making sure to brush it in the direction I wanted my "wood grain". After ~3 coats on each section, I let it dry for a while, then did a thin layer of stain rubbed on with a cloth. After that dried, I sealed it all with a simple brushed on polyurethane in the same direction. NOTES: * I did not use the wood graining tool, since that wasn't too important to me. It still came out fine. It just looks like a more uniform / slightly more artificial wood finish, which is its own nice aesthetic. * One thing I wish I'd done but didn't is use wood filler on any pits and to sand down any bubbling of the particle board more aggressively. The Retique it did not hide any surface imperfections, so if you want a really smooth look, go intense with sanding and filling until it's smooooooth! The color stain I used was Sunbleached by Varathane.

It’s fine, but not worth the price. This same look can be achieved with any beige paint. In my case, two coats were needed before adding the gel stain. Would have given fewer stars, but gave three because it is paint, it sticks

Very easy to use, quick drying, great results. Redid my son's wood bedroom furniture and they look like new! I like the variety of finishes and the flexibility for the finish to look rustic or more suble.

Amazing. Will be using this forever. Our door was ugly dark navy blue. This stuff is magic.
