Beekeeper here. Borage’s nectaries are able to produce nectar virtually all day. Honey bees adore this plant!!! Great companion plant. It also attracts insects, that are predators of common garden pests, like aphids, tomato hornworms etc. I’m organic so I love seeing wasps, Syrphid flies (they look like seat bees), etc. all stopping by in droves to drink nectar. As larva, Syrphids eat insects and destroy large swaths of eggs. The wasps really don’t sting, but they inject their eggs into caterpillars, and the larva eat the host inside out! Beautiful, and even culinarily useful …try German Gruen (green) sauce, a faint hint of cucumber.
