This is a new VtM; approach with caution
Been a storyteller and player of White Wolf games for over 20+ years; while I prefer TTRPG (table-top rpg games or pen and pencil) I have LARP'd a few times. I ordered the 3 book set just about the beginning of the global COVID-19 and received it in the usual Prime 2 day shipping. Upon opening I was struck immediately with the sheer color and vibrancy of the books; each also contained a code to get a free (valued at about $20) pdf; signed up at Modiphius website easily and downloaded my pdf copies. Then I got into pouring over these gorgeous and evocative books. I'll start with the pluses then share my negatives. Pluses: dense books packed with visual and narrative contents; art and art design/production: absolutely top-notch. I felt like a strange voyeour watching the lives of blood sucking vampires. The books were well constructed, spine sewed and well glued; these books will last for a while particularly being passed around a game table; (but for the bibliophile and collector, White Wolf publishes a deluxe edition). The books contain comprehensive information, you can tell that years of play testing resulted in a book that gave you everything you need to play in 1 book. Gone is the decades bloat of rules, paths, thaumaturgy magic and unnecessary rules for a game that should be intimate, exploratory and nearly psychological. Negatives: the core rulebook is a gorgeous piece of evocative art and contents, but more care should have been spent on layout. Some of the rules are interspersed throughout the book, sometimes difficult to find. I think that a basic rulebook should be put out by Modiphius as a free contents pdf; I feel like I stumble upon rules as opposed to easily referencing them. So, overall, longtime 20+ year fan; Im sold. Ive picked up this omnibus set and have started a vampire game after taking a near 6 year hiatus, (tried Vampire the Requiem but it was just 'blah'). Im now running 2 Discord based games and have not had this much fun since 1st edition Vampire.

Still a great tabletop RPG
This was my favorite role playing game throughout my college years, and it's still awesome after all these years. Well written and beautifully illustrated, these books make for great reading even if you're not playing the game.

Absolutely Stunning books
the books are great quality, and feel super premium. with thick pages, and tons of lore and background for setting its great for getting a grasp on the world of darkness. I am also really glad to have the masquerade back over requiem. it is all familiar and with just enough new to make it all very engaging.

Eat your heart out Bela Lugosi. I’m the count now and I’m far cooler. LOL
I all ways a bit of a horror buff and a political junky, why not bring them together? Why not be a Punk Rockin’ Vampire as well.

Good buy, maybe improving padding for transit would have saved the collector box.
Love the artwork and concepts. Do not love that the collector box came in busted up, but the books were just fine.

Good fluff. Weak crunch.
The set does a very good job of defining and immersing the reader the the setting of Vampire the Masquerade. Only about 20 to 25% of the text is rules and gameplay information. The system is too rules light for me, but I really enjoyed reading the setting and might use it for a game using crunchier rules, like GURPS. The books are high quality hard covers, and feature some really good looking artwork. I liked reading it. I jut don't think I'll play it as is.
