Just Add Lumber Vegetable Garden Kit - 8'x8' Deluxe

So, I've been wanting to get this for years, but had held off for a variety of reasons, finally taking the plunge this year.It arrived this week, and off I went to my local sawmill to find out what the lumber would cost. After discussing various options, I decided to go with Spruce (I will stain the outside), which should last just as long as either Cedar or Redwood might in New England (10-15 years) if properly cared for. as a DIYer, I did have a few questions re the actual wood sizes, contacted Gardens To Gro, spoke to someone that was incredibly helpful, and found their services great. While I've read many reviews complaining about the "add lumber" component, I found it to be reasonable at an overall cost of $189.13, including all the cuts, labeling, taxes, and delivery to my home. The only additional costs should be the stain which I'll likely pick up tonight ($30?). I noticed on the Gardens To Gro website that they also have a watering hookup kit for this garden, so I'll likely order that too.Since I've seen other reviews with updates, I'll update mine with pictures once it is complete (within a week?). Of course, I have no idea what to plant, as I'm new to gardening (other than herbs and spices), so suggestions for New England garden growing would be welcome!Thanks everyone!

Not worth the money , product was not even close to the description. Dont waste your money.

Its a good design but could be better. For just a bit more lumber it could be made into a completely netted enclosure and or greenhouse. Instructions are not designed for weekend DIyers. Took crew of three non english speaking handymen a full day. Cedar Supply in my city did not stock some of the exact sizes listed. Interior of beds should be lined with plastic or waterproofed to inhibit wood rot. Hardware sturdy and convenient but Simpson probably makes connectors that would work as well albeit less attractive. Neighbors are happy with the finished look as far as we can tell. Depth of planter depends on dimension of lumber you choose ie 2 X 8 or 2X10 or combo. Lumber cost was about $$500. Going to attempt to modify as stated this winter.

This was a really fun project that we worked on as a family. It turned out beautiful and I get a lot of complements. I only give it 4 stars because the hardware was of good quality, but not great.

Was fairly easy to put together once we got the wood. Took 3/4 of the day, and I can't wait to get it filled with dirt so I can plant!

Easy to build with the plans provided. The board sizes had to be adjusted to what was actually available at lowes. Easy to assemble. A fun project.

A lot of work but it looks great! Very happy with the end result!
