XP makes several search coils for this detector. A smaller coil is the 9.5" x 5" search coil. There is also the 11" and 9" coils. If these are not small enough for you, look at the NEL and Detech search coils.

I've seen minelab detect a small gold flake at 10 inches. How deep Will this one read something like that

I don’t know for sure but sensitive to small targets, I really like the detector But I sent it back within three weeks, the coil or battery quit would not take a charge, I didn’t like having to charge the coil which was also hard to clamp on, I was really disappointed that this Detector did not work for me it was super light and portable, I hope this helps
