I'm the person who asked for an exact measurement of the rear zippered compartment - shown in "questions asked." Everyone was friendly and polite and no one answered that simple question. But I needed to replace an aging Coronado Leather F-Pack and decided to try this one, glad I did. FYI the two rear zippered compartments measeure 4-inches for the pocket farthest back & 5 1/4 - inches for the main rear compartment. I use my pack for CCW purposes and thats why I asked for the measurements.I read all the reviews and have some observations of my own. I believe it is leather (on the outside) and one of the pockets is lined half leather the other half (and all the other pockets) is lined with a fairly heavy nylon. I find pockets lined W/the nylon fabric make removal and replacing items (like wallets) easy. Leather on leather is sticky on occassion. JMHO. The nylon seems sturdy and will likely resist wear & tear. The ring on the front is usless for me. The little side pockets are larger than my old pack and I use them prodigiously. The pack actully has seven (7) pockets, there is a small inside zippered pocket in the large main compartment. The zippers appear to be metal and not nylon. They are not steel, (magnet does not stick) but I suspect aluminum or poss an alloy of zinc. Anyway, nylon zippers eventually fail, jam, or separate. The belt uses a solid double click snap lock since I wear a 38 waist, I measured six inces of slack left, so, up to a 44 should fit. I ordered coffee and I like it, but it is darker than the photo. The shipping took a couple weeks.Overall I really have no complaints, especially for under $50. many top-of-the-line packs go for way over $100. One technique I use is if I find something that meets my usage, I order two, even three and keep them. They don't go bad over time and often I find it hard to locate a specific item I liked years down the road and then the internet search with trial & error starts again. I will order another one, this time in brown.UPDATE: Glad I ordered two - the large compartment zipper separated at 18 months; I have gone to the back-up I purchased. Why it quit, I'm not sure, as I have stated I do load the pack to its maximum, and that strain might have popped some zipper teeth. Keep the zipper teeth siliconed and if you do not overload the pack, you would likely have no issues. I took one star off. I wanted at least 2-3 years before it quit.

I walk around with this pregnancy stopper and the girls cannot get enough. As a 30+ year old American living in Europe, I got right in with these euro-packing multi-lingual world travelers and they have no idea that an imposter is in their midst. Five stars.

Huge capacity and great hidden added extra pockets for keys, wads of cash and even a concealed carry. Quality and look of the leather is excellent. Build quality is excellent. BUT the zippers were over engineered. There is a sliding mechanism that lets you remove the dangling zipper pulls. The problem is that belt loops very easily move this sliding mechanism and catches your pants at the most inopportune times. Then you gotta find your wife to free you. When she is out of town, you're outta luck till she comes back. I took a hammer and closed the gaps and hope this will prevent future issues. This is annoying enough to ding a star from an otherwise perfect fanny pack. I'm looking at you 1990's Dwayne Johnson.
