I placed them in my cart immediately based on looks alone. I ordered 2 to start (for our two boxers) they are incessant, heavy chewers and tend to destroy toys in under the first five minutes of play. They arrived within the Prime promised time. Dawg grillz became the new favorite toy! Droid became obsessed, spending hours entertaining himself. His favorite game is to hold one in his mouth while kicking another around. He would steal Coco’s whenever the opportunity would arise. (this action did not go over well & resulted in me tearing the two beasts apart in order to save his ass. To solve this dilemma (I thought) I placed a second order for two more. Droid is a gentle, loving, loyal and affectionate dog BUT since the arrival of these dawg grillz his gentle demeanor has changed considerably. After hours of intense play and bizarre behavior I insisted that they go do business outside. Droid was completely focused, distracted and downright protective of these balls. He refused my request. I stepped out of the room and returned within minutes only to find he did his business on the wood floors ! He has never!!! My daughter insisted I remove the balls from their toy stock as they were suddenly transformed into addicts (Droid in particular). I agreed with her after witnessing this odd behavior and took away the balls. He began to shake uncontrollably, pant, pace and sniff for hours in search of the balls. It is as if he is going through withdrawal !!! We have never experienced anything like this with any other toy in all their years. It begs the question “What are these ballls made of ???” I made a commitment to read all reviews on this product to find out if anyone else has experienced this and sure enough there was a similar experience. We are not crazy or alone. It has the worst chemical smell imaginable. Extremely strong! Something like formaldehyde mixed with strong moth balls. I have washed it 5 times and been soaking it for hours. Still stinky. I won't give this to my pup until the smell is gone. Would have been 5 stars based on first impression, but the chemical smell is soooo bad. Really makes it look like your dog has big teeth when held the right way. The only reason I’m not giving it full stars is because it had the STRANGEST smell. Very chemically kinda smell that is probably not safe for dogs. We took it away from our dog because we wanted to air it out or wash it but nothing worked! The smell is very concerning. Other than that, it’s a perfect toy.
