Yoshihiro Magnetic Oak Wood Saya Cover Blade Protector for Santoku (180mm)7in

Beautiful saya! All the edges were finished well, and it perfectly fits my Miyabi 7” birchwood santoku (classic, not rocking santoku). I can see how the peg could be easy to lose—but if you just flip the saya over to push out the peg into a bowl (and maybe line with a small towel or kitchen rag so it doesn’t fly out), it’s nbd. The saya wood is quite light, true to magnolia. After a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil it’s roughly the same color as the birchwood handle (also oiled), just a touch creamier/paler. The red seal is a fainter red than I expected, more pale coral/pinkish-orange (vs. deep true crimson on the Miyabi handle accents/blade logo)…but still very handsome all together! Great function and aesthetics for a reasonably-priced saya.

Perfect for my shun santoku knife! I rubbed mineral oil on this holster and it is looking great.

The cover fit my Miyabi Koh 7" Santoku perfectly. However, it's advertised as the magnetic cover, which I did not get. I got the pin version. So, I wonder if it's kind of random which one you get. But what I have is a good sheath. I'll look into how I might connect a string to the pin so it doesn't get lost.

I got this saya for one of my japanese knife and it fit perfectly. I highly recommend it if you want to protect your knife from getting bang/toss around. it is a good investment!
