Direction of rotation

Look at the pull starter. Easy to see which way the start rope is wrapped. Engine will run same direction pull starter turns it. On back of engine, is other end of same shaft.

can i buy it if i need it for a honda gx240 engine mortar mixer

79 goes into 240 about 3 times. So you'll need three of these engines.

Is there a place to connect a throttle cable (spring loaded) so that it can be used as a go kart motor? Or dose it require modifications? thx

motor has built in cable mount. if you are using a gas peddle, you will need a return spring but the attachment point and cable clamp are there.

Which side is the 6:1 gear reduction on? I order one, but after looking at the picture, it may not work on my plow hoss. looking from the rear.

If the gear reduction is not turned the correct way, you can take the gearbox off and rotate it. It could void the warranty though. I have not tried this on the lifan, but have done so on several B&S with no problems

Powerful 4hp Engine" Alot of Power for my Son Mini bike"

Description did not match product that shipped, can't return.

Product description changed once item moved to cart. Initial description is a small engine without gear reduction. The engine that shipped had a 6:1 gear reduction and does not work with my application. Not able to return and now I have a 4hp paper weight. Very disappointed.

WTF amazon

Bought this new 5 months ago arrived with damaged air filter housing broken in three spots so I ordered the go power sports air filter jet manifold upgrade.Pull start broke after 5 pulls .Replaced that then it would only run on choke.I cleaned the carb emulsion tube main jet idle circuit bowl.Still the same.Bought a new carb for it now won't start.I guess I will buy a predator you guys suck.Update the reason it wouldn't start was the timing gear was not aligned. So if you get one and it won't start that could be the reason.Luckily I am mechanically inclined but not everyone is so you guys should double check before you ship them out.

This thing is total crap write out the box damage after damage after damage first of all I ordered a four horsepower they gave me a seven pull start was so bent in it cracked the flywheel plastics pull start spring is total crap. Do not buy from this company do not buy this engine
