I ordered this heavy-duty self-latching gate hardware to install on a cattle fence section, giving me easier access to the property line behind me for ongoing repairs. The build quality is excellent. The latch is stamped from a thick, heavy-gauge steel that feels highly solid, and the glossy black powder-coated finish is applied evenly to protect against rust and harsh weather exposure. The pivot hardware on the catch mechanism operates very smoothly with zero sticking, catching the strike bar securely every single time the gate swings shut. It features pre-drilled, heavy-duty mounting holes that make installation onto a wood post incredibly straightforward with standard outdoor screws. It also includes an integrated hole for a padlock if you require added security. It's a simple, robust piece of hardware that functions flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Quite sturdy for what it is - Not sure it's really any better than the average one you'd find at a hardware store, but can't argue that it's a solid value for the price. I do wish that it came with a line to pull it open, but I can't fault it as it doesn't say it's included.
