Get on the 'Zoodle' Craze!
Well, I finally decided to get on the zoodle craze. I decided to try using a small, simple handheld spiral slicer. This one from Cooking Savior is fantastic. It quickly spiral slices my zucchini and I had a serving of "zoodles" in about a minute. Then I tried a carrot, which was quickly twisted and turned into cute little spirals too. I added a small summer squash which some call golden zucchini, and had a big bowl of spiral cut veggies within 5 minutes! I had made a sort of pico de gallo sauce with onions, tomatoes, cilantro and garlic and after running my paring knife through the spirals, I sat down to eat a delicious side dish. I cut the spirals into smaller strings in the bowl, but I think I might try cutting them right off the slicer next time. Either way wasn't hard. Next time, I will try microwaving and draining the zucchini to have in place of spaghetti noodles! This is the perfect time of year to start using all those zucchini in a healthy way! There is also a ceramic peeler included which I used to peel my carrot efficiently and easily. This is my first use of any ceramic cutting/peeling utensil and it worked great also. I used the included small brush to get veggie parts out of the spiral slicer blade when cleaning under running water, but next time I will try the top rack of my dishwasher.

I don't think I will use it for this purpose again as it is just as easy to slice veggies for the salad
This spiral slicer was much smaller than I thought it would be. I used it once to shred carrots and zucchini. I used these spirals in a salad. I don't think I will use it for this purpose again as it is just as easy to slice veggies for the salad. I thought I could use the zucchini spirals with sauce as a substitute to carbs, but they were much too fine for that purpose I think. Plus it takes a lot of effort to shred just a small amount.

Spring for a better quality one, trust me.
I really like spiralizers (I prefer zucchini noodles to pasta noodles), but the manufacturing quality on this is crap. It came without the little dividers to make the narrow noodles, which irritated me, because it meant only half the thing was even useable. But I was like, oh well, it's fine, I prefer the wider noodles anyway and returns are a hassle. Then, just two weeks later the plastic holding the other metal cutting part broke out, rendering it completely unusable. I had used it maybe five times at that point. Complete waste of money. Pay the extra five bucks for a better quality one of these, they are great tools if you actually get a good one.

Great little spiralizer that can.
Cooking Savior’s Spiral Slicer came packed in a box. Printed on the box itself is the directions on how to use the slicer. The package includes a slicer, a ceramic vegetable peeler, a small brush, and a plastic guard. It works just like a pencil sharpener. Wrap your palm and fingers around the stainless steel part to secure it. Choose the type of cut you want: the flat and wide, or spaghetti noodle. Place a zucchini in the compartment you want. Press and turn clockwise in a screwing action. The hand holding the slicer should turn in the opposite direction like you’re wringing out a washcloth. The zucchini noodles is turned out in long continuous strands. Make shorter noodles by easing up the pressure or by pulling/breaking the noodles. The plastic guard has spikes on the underside to hold the zucchini in place when it gets down to the end. It helps to get more out of the zucchini, but there was some left.Clean up is easy. I rinse under water and use the brush to clean the blade. Overall, the slicer was easy to use. It made beautiful noodles out of vegetables. Vegetable noodles are light and healthy substitutes for pasta. It’s great for a gluten-free household. The slicer is small and compact, easily stored in a drawer.I bought this at a discount in exchange for an unbiased review. Click YES if this review was helpful to you. Thank you!

Works ok-gives you a workout though
I wanted to try zoodles, but didn't want to spend a lot of money to see if I liked it. I found this one, and it was one of the cheaper ones so I gave it a go. It works ok- I never could get the holder thing that you stick in the end to really work. I ended up just holding onto the zucchini with my fingers. Once I got it going it worked fine, but it could be a workout for your forearm if you did much of it. I think I would have like it better if I had gotten one that you stuck on and then you crank it. It took a little time to do a big zucchini with this. If you're on a budget and don't want to spend much-this works ok, but I wish I would have gotten one a little nicer and spent a little more.

Fun, easy to use, and doesn't take up much space!
I'm doing a Whole30 and decided it was time to try some of the zucchini noodle recipes I've seen everywhere. I didn't want another bulky, single-use appliance taking up cupboard space, so this little gadget seemed like a good alternative. Plus, I figured that if it didn't work, I wouldn't be out much money. We tried it the day it arrived. My kids loved watching the zucchini turn into noodles. I'm left-handed, and I find that it works best to set the flat end on a flat surface and twist the veggies through the top. It's easy to use and makes beautiful, long noodles. I have only used it with zucchini, so I don't know how it would work with harder vegetables like sweet potatoes or carrots. It's easy to clean, too, especially with the little brush that's included. My only complaint, which is minor, is that it was hard to spiralize anything past the last couple of inches, so I ended up throwing away a small chunk of zucchini. I rarely buy kitchen gadgets these days because I have pretty much everything I could ever need, but I think this little item is a great addition to my kitchen!

Nothing like I expected
Nothing like I expected. The only reason that I ordered this one was because it got so many stars. It was way more work than I expected and my zucchini looked nothing like this when I was done.
