Before this, I only used free weights because I thought they were the only way to really work my muscles. Resistance tubing can be equally effective and a nice way to mix things up.Why I love this tubing:* The versatility. You can use it to work every body part. Those new to exercise can use this light resistance for a good workout. Those more advanced folks can also use this tubing with weights. I particularly love doing bicep curls with light weights and this light resistance tubing. Talk about ouch!* The way it really gets into the muscle. Since there is a constant tension, your muscles work on both the concentric and eccentric movements. For example, you feel the burn on both the lift and the lower of your arms for bicep curls.* It's a wonderful aid in stretching. This light tubing provides just enough resistance to help stretch your muscles without straining them.* It's easier to avoid using momentum when lifting.* You can make it more challenging. You can double up the tubing and make exercises even tougher.* The high quality. The handles are padded and are very comfortable to hold. I have had other tubing with hard plastic handles and they hurt my hands, even when I wore lifting gloves.* The construction of the handles and how they're attached to the tubing. It's really quite comfortable and doesn't twist around and pinch my wrists like other tubing does.* The door attachment allows you to do even more exercises like lat pull downs and other back work.* It's very durable. The thickness of the tubing makes it less likely that the tubing will tear, unlike bands which tend to tear easily.* It's portable and light weight. It's quite easy to slip this into your suitcase to take with you when traveling.
